I regret to inform you but the build mix for the 2007 Mustang is 62% V6 & 38% GT.

Originally the build mix was 68% V6 and 32% GT. It changed in Feb 05 when the Vert Stang was introduced.

If you don't believe me, feel free to refer to the 2007 Mustang Dealer Order Guide which is elsewhere on TMS.

That's what you can do when your company is profitable.
The good days at Crapster appear to be more of an illusion than reality. Crapster has been building way to many cars, dumping them on dealers and giving huge rebates to try to move them. The s... has already started to hit the fan over there. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the Challenger never sees production, especially if the plan is only a V8 version.

Perhaps so, but you might want to look at this post for this past week's ordering mix.

I regret that you are probably right (because it would have improved the chances of getting rebates/discounts on 07 GTs).

I got my conflicting info from a Ford ppt presentation on stangsunleashed. This is a screen capture of slide 66 that shows 59% GTs. http://www.stangsunleashed.com/docs/07.fordjob1.ppt

Reminds me of the Grabber orange issue. Is it metallic or not? Order guide says it is "Grabber Orange Clearcoat Metallic", slide 50 of the ppt says "Grabber Orange Clearcoat".

Is it 38% or 59% GTs?
Order guide seem more authoritative than a ppt slide but I still hope the order guide is wrong and the ppt is right.

I wouldn't bet on that if I were you.

On the other hand, if there's one thing that will kill the Challenger AND Camaro, it will be the rising price of gas putting an abrupt end to the retro muscle car fad.

That said, I doubt it will die out for a while - not with the imports introducing all sorts of high performance cars, not the least of which will be the upcoming Nissan GT-R Proto (Skyline).

Tony & AFBLUE, here's the deal, it is confusing.

The information that Five Oh B is not correct regarding total production.
Think about it, he said "GT-500 is set at 10%"
Ford is making about 160,000 - 180,000 Mustangs per year.
If GT-500 was 10% that would mean Ford is making 16,000 to 18,000 GT-500s / year, which we all know is not the case.

What Five Oh B's #s are, is order allocation for his Ford region, not the annual total production mix.

As has been noted elsewhere on TMS, for whatever reason some areas of the US, like the Northeast are getting very few GTs. On the hand it appears that Five Oh B's area is getting a very generous allocation of GTs and GT-500s. He is one lucky Ford salesman.

That's fine but I was not using Five Oh B as a reference. I was using Ford's figures in the ppt above.

I have admitted that you are probably right on the allocation but was just pointing out that there is conflicting info from Ford. The slide is titled "National" order mix. It's not a regional mix on the slide and it shows that 59% of mustangs will be GTs.

That GT500 percentage is obviously what is in conflict. What AFBLUE posted led me to also believe there are more GTs coming, especially since the GT/CS will be part of that mix.

Perhaps ISELLFORD could chime in and help us on this?
