If you look on the bottom of page 22 in your brochure it says "Ford Division reserves the right to change product specifications at any time without incurring obligations."

I've put a call in to my district rep to try to get further details about what is and what isn't included in the package.

The message said something like there aren't enough IUP's for all GT's so order this other version. Do they mean for the whole production run of 2005's or do they mean for now?

Nope, its not false advertisement. They do offer it, they just ran out. "Supplies may be limited".

thegoalie: why do you doubt it? its the only thing that makes sense, why would they offer it otherwise?
Here's why I doubt it:

As is my understanding, this is a measure that Ford is taking because there is a temporary shortage of the IUP parts. When Ford manages to stockpile a decent supply of the IUP parts, there will be no need to ration them anymore.

This new package is available on the V6 and GT. I'd be worried if it was only for V6.

The IUP is in short supply because it is extremely popular. For Ford to take that away from the potential V6 customers doesn't seem like a smart business move.

But I'll be first to admit that Ford knows what's best. They know what will make them the most money. I'm just going with my gut on this one.

Hmm...

I would have expected the IUP lite to at least include the aluminum across the dash, without it, I believe there will be a lot of disappointed people willing to wait for full IUP.

I will wait for certain.

Hopefully this new IUP-Lite package is temporary for all versions of the car. If Ford did infact decided that the V6 only gets the IUP-Lite package I would most indefinitely jump ship and get an Acura RSX or Mazda6. I really dislike the looks of the interior w/o the aluminum touches and what not.

Bad Ford, Bad! :notnice:

I am kind of confused, if you want the V6, why does it matter if the GT gets the IUP-lite version or not?

I'm guessing that this will turn out to be the only IUP offered on v6s.
Because of the comment from Grantsdale about it being the only one offered on the V6... I didn't see anyone say it was GT only? I read the thread rather fast.

That is true, currenlty the full IUP is only offered on the GT until supplies are back up, they don't have enough IUP supplies to fulfill even the GT orders.

I know this... I don't plan on getting my Stang until the 06's come out. But if for some reason Ford decides to permanently water down the IUP on the V6 it would turn me off.

Wow, I am glad my GT will be delivered next week. I would be upset if I could not get the IUP.

I could of lived without Mycolor but everything else I want. Seems like everything else should no be a supply problem. If aluminum on the dash is in short supply-they went with the wrong vendor.

Well, I can add to this. The base GT was supposed to have a leather steering wheel, but the order guide that came out on 10/15 (ironically my build date) no longer reflects this. The GM printed it out while I was there. It is even listed as a standard item in the sales brocheure. Now it is an additional cost itemin on e of the 2 upgrade packages. The rough textured vinyl wheel that comes in the car is uncomfortable at best and the worst I've ever seen, and I declined delivery of the car that I've waited over 2 months to come in primarily for this reason. A $27k + car should have a leather wheel as standard equipment.

Oh well, someone else bought the car before I could leave the dealership. Words can not express my fustration at Ford for providing bogus information that I made a purchase decision on.

I hear what your saying! It appears Ford is making a trend out of this bate and switch trick. First it was the 18" wheels. Then it was the Intake Plenum Cover. Now it's the IUP! I think I am even missing something else that they didn't come through on. Either way, not cool!

The non IUP steering wheel is horrendous. I can't imagine having to feel and look at that thing everyday.

Agreed! The IUP is beautiful. I didn't think I would mess with the MYcolor as much, but have so far. I think the message center is very nice as well-very informative-if you're into that. The dash itself, very clean and sporty looking. When we dropped our son off at school this morning, one of the teachers came over to open the door for us and just glared at the dash.
