Congrats. Don't forget to post up some photos. I can't wait to see the charcaol/red interior with the Redfire exterior. It's got to look sweet.

+1 on the Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax... (and spray NXT for in-between wax treatments)

It's ordered off the web, so anyone can place an order for it.

My problem is the complexity and the multi-multi-multi step process involved...and the time waiting between coats.

Then there's the fact that you have to hunt down and find white, Ecuadorian towels made with the wool of virgin Alpine sheep, yada, yada, yada...blah, blah, blah.

I have to go away this weekend in the car, so for the short haul - to get it done relatively fast tomorrow night - I'm thinking of just a wash, claybar...and then Meguiars NXT wax.

Besides which, I noticed (and I think I actually started the thread/poll) that when asked, people around here ranked NXT and Zaino about equally.

I may try Zaino before year's end, though...just to decide for myself.
I did exactly what you plan on. I purchased the NXT and clay bared then waxed the car when I first got it. I had planned on just using the NXT on a permanent basis from what I had read it sounded like great stuff and I have always used M's products in the past. I have to say after using the NXT I wasn't impressed. Although I cant speak of the longevity of protection I didn't get that smooth as glass feel I expect when I touch the car and the shine was not as deep as I expected either. I then bought the Zaino kit and waited till I had time to spend a couple days on it and wow what a difference but if you've already used it you know. They did change the formula and with the accelerator you only need about 30min between coats. I gave it a little longer but it wasn't required. However if you just want to go for some fast protection to get you on the road your on the right track.

I could be wrong, I thought you could only apply 3 coats within a 24 hour period when using ZFX. I thought I read that with ZFX you apply multiple coats with little drying time(depending on humidity), but I thought no more than 3 coats in 24. Guess I need to reread the instructions, maybe it wouldn't take 3 days!

You are correct, 3 in 24hrs, but you only need 30min in between were although I never used it people said with the old stuff it had to sit sometimes for the entire day.

Ditto. Drying, washing, and polishing, try to do front to rear as much as possible on horizontal surfaces, up and down on the verticals.

NXT rocks, Zaino is a PITA. Quick detailer for spots after drying with a microfiber cloth is also your best friend after normal washes. Luckily I get to used compressed air at the dealer indoors no less so I don't have to chase drips from the bumper, mirrors, and grille for an hour after washing...

That would be a bummer! 3 days doesn't sound so bad after reading that!
