For those interested...

I ordered an 06 Mustang GT Convertible Premium with X-Plan pricing a week ago from Schultz Ford in Nanuet, NY. The salesman's name was Paul (tell him I referred you). I received the DORA today (woo hoo!!).

I have it fully loaded, with the following (dealer invoice price as noted):

2006 Mustang GT Premium - 28,480.00
Vista Blue
Black Convertible Roof
Dark Charcoal Leather Trim
Anti-Lock, Traction Control, Rear Defroster, Manual Air 4.6L 3V OHC V8 Engine
5 Speed Manual Transmission
235/50ZR18 Tires
Rear Spoiler Delete

Active Anti-Theft System - $263.00
Wheel Locking Kit - $45.00
Interior Upgrade Package - $401.00
Front Seat Side Airbags - $329.00
Convertible Boot Cover - $102.00
18" Bright Machined Aluminum Rims - $735.00 Shaker 1000 Audio System - $1,153.00

Destination & Delivery - $675.00
2 US Gal Fuel Charge - $3.84
FDAF Assessment - $300.00

TOTAL - $32,486.84

X-PLAN PRICE: $32,431.89 (this is the amount on my order).

My order was signed by their sales manager so it is an executed agreement.

Paul said they have about eight 05 orders which were converted to 06, which are currently in que ahead of me.

Paul said they give all their orders a priority of 20, so they will be on a first-come, first-served basis. They said they don't know when it will be delivered but they suspect not till after October (isn't that a bit early!?)

Based on what I read online, I'd be pleasantly surprised if I received delivery of it this winter, but also wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't arrive till the spring of 06.

Schultz Ford itself seems to be undergoing a lot of change - they are in the process of building a new showroom/office for their Ford lot. The lot itself does not seem that large, so I'm not sure if this is considered a small or medium dealer and how that may play into the delivery date for my Mustang.

I might be wrong...but does the size of the dealer really matter? Isn't it like a queue...first in first out? Or a priority queue?? hahaha

i will vouch for Schultz ford. they did well for me. accepted my x plan on my 05. i was originally a priority 20 and got bumped to a priority 10. 3 month wait for the car. right on schedule. came the day before i was told it would be there. Excellent dealer and apparently great allocation

I am looking to order a vista blue black top combination as well. Were you thinking of putting black stripes on it by any chance? I have been thinking about it, but I can't find a good picture of a sonic blue with black top. I don't know if you are a stripe kind of person or not, but if anyone has some pics of a sonic blue with black top I would love to see them.

Also are you ordering it thinking that it is almost the exact color as sonic? I have seen the comparison on this site, but I really want to see a piture of it before I make any choices.

Congrats on ordering your new car And I'd be happy to pay less than $2 a gallon.

No stripes for me. However, I do want to put a different spoiler on the back (I ordered the spoiler delete) but not sure what yet. I also want to replace the hood with something that looks cooler. I've seen several of them online but haven't made up my mind. The last change will be the exhaust. Not sure on that either! But I've got months to figure all that out.

I think the Vista Blue will be similar to the Sonic but slightly lighter, more metallic and without the purplish hue. I think (hope) I'll love it!

Sorry for the 2 month delay in responding...

I am not adding stripes. I'm not much for stripes. However, what I am doing is swapping out the hood and adding the following duck tail and chin. I'll post pictures in September after the work is done. Performance upgrades will be in 2006 (after I understand all of them!)

Classic Design Concept (CDC) Front Chin Spoiler - Classic Style - #97L419 http://store.cal-mustang.com/showdetl-7-9177-25-0.html

Street Scene Rear Duck Tail Spoiler - #95070745

GTR Ram Air Hood - #18011000

Congrats on getting your DORA for the '06 Vert!

I ordered my wife's '05 MG GT Vert on X-Plan, which was about a $2500 difference; basically it covered taxes and fees in PA. My avatar is the wife's vert.

Those are dealer invoice prices he's listing, not retail MSRP.
