The Hot Wheels 2005 Mustang is #5 in a series of 20 Realistix. Hot Wheels usually allows pictures to leak in order of release, so I'd expect the Hot Wheels '05 sometime before the end of January, maybe sooner if you can beat the scalpers.

YellowCobra is right, that picture of a red Mustang is a Matchbox 2004 Mustang Concept.

Johnny Lightning's 2005 will be released in May. Go to the Toys and Memorabilia boards for pics.

Anyone who DOESN'T take their toy cars out of the packages has some series problems

man can hot wheel's products get any more crummy? :notnice:

Wait for the autoart 1:18 scale to come out, they do seatbelts with buckles and everything. Sure to have ICAP and IUP.

Love the car. I have to say the interior looks a bit plastic.

im still waiting for the 1:18 diecast thats not $50
I might pay $50, if the stereo works. (Shaker .500) ? But seriously, nobody has made one that isn't a concept.

Needs to be my paint/interior combo (Sonic/Graphite)

The first 1:18's will come out in January, made by Auto Art. There will be one in Legend Lime and one in Red Fire:

Fanblades on the 1:18! Sweet! Unfortunately, a matchbox is the only new mustang I'll see this christmas. BTW, this post should make me a GT member!

Really? I always like Hot Wheels better, but that might be because my dad got me track with my first cars and Hot Wheels always performed better.

Right now, my 2800 piece 1/64 diecast collection consists of 48% Hot Wheels, 37% Johnny Lightning and 7% Matchbox. The remainder consists of all other manufacturers.

Now it just becomes a question of resolving Chinese labor disputes. Apparently, container ships containing Mattel Product are waiting to be unloaded at Long Beach.

Is this why the shelves at Target are empty, and WalMart is old stock? I am NOT that into it, but I do like them.
