My sources say that the embargo Ford has had on any new news in regards to the 2005 Mustang will be lifted September 1. 2004 (reviews, testing etc.) We should all be seeing new articles from our favorite magazines in the next couple of weeks.

I just talked with someone in Ford PR and she said Sept 1st. So that is what I am going on.

 

However Ford will not do any advertisng until after there are cars on showroom floors. After October 1st.

 

If its Sept 1, that means that the newest MT will have it.

I was sayin to Galaxie, that its unusually LATE this month.
I should have had it already in my hot little hands.
If its true, that means that they intentionally shipped it out late, so that it would not arrive early (kinda like it did with the 05 Production pics pre NAIAS 2004)

It could still be October 1 and hey, we'll see it soon....but I'll keep ya'll informed

Steve, didn't someone at the Oakville Celebration tell us that people T/Ding the car wouldn't be allowed to say anything until Sept. 1st (and there was a reference to that guy who T/D and said it handled like a Ferrari?)

Remind me again of the source for each date. I really believe it is Sept. 1st......or at least I really hope it is.

The media testdrives are in early september at least in Canada.

The embargo date is October 1st, at least that is what the public affairs guy at Ford of Canada told the two of us. I am 100% positive on that.

Isn't Sept. 29th the date that Ford was going to advertise to "Come See The New Mustang" at the dealers? Someone said this in the forum a while back I thought. If everything goes well at the factory, no quality issues and all that, I think some of them could be at the dealers by then. Anyone else remember this date mentioned?

 

In my H/R magthat i just gotOCT 2004.Under (Project Garage) page 42 is a story on Bonspeed mustang 05. The company says they got a 05 from ford ,and they are working on it . Calling it Black Rose.Will try to post it soon.

 

I do not understand this. BMW are releasing the 1-series in a week, but the advertising machine has been in overdrive for weeks

I hope so as well. I think it would be terrible PR for Ford to release pricing after they start producing the car and once magazines start pumping out articles about the 05.

Also, if the next round of mags have mustang t/d's in them, I think they'd also have accurate pricing. So, both the mags and Ford will release their info on Sept. 1.

In addition, the fact that Ford is running this innovation drive makes no sense if they are trying to embargo T/D info until October 1st.

Last, there are two guys on Corral.net saying that they are about to get an 05 to test drive on a track and say they will be posting results etc.... before the middle of Sept. it seems.

The October date doesn't add up IMO. Stay tuned, the next day or two might be interesting.
