So, WTF is up with my car sitting in MO. for the last 9 days trying to make it's way to CA.?

Trace Results
Equipment Id L/E Billed Event Road Location Date/Time
ETTX 903332
Load P *Arrived NS VOLMIXCTR, MO 10/05/2005 00:20:00
Load P ETA Industry City Not Visible, State Not Visible 10/29/2005 13:00:00

I was suppose to pick it up on Monday, according to my dealer. I am really frustrated and need to vent. :bang:

It looks like I won't be getting my car until 10/29.

Does 24 days to ship from MI to CA sound reasonable? Ford is P*ssing me off!

I wouldn't blame Ford, I'd blame the rail company.

I don't agree. Ford is responsible for the logistics and timely delivery of my vehicle.

Just imagine if you had your own business selling widgets to the public.

Would you blame the shipper and tell your customers that it's the shippers fault that their goods are 2 weeks late? I don't think that you would be in business very long.

If the rail company is F*cked-up, Ford needs to fix it.

No?

Missouri is the show me state, maybe everyone wants to see your car!
I waited 10 months for my car, it will be worth the wait, even sweeter when you take the photo next to the shelby, hang in there.

LOL... You know you are probably right! Missouri is the show me state, maybe everyone wants to see my car!

I guess that I need to calm down a bit. I am really frustrated I guess with the lying dealers and this whole agonizing process.

Is convoy carrier different then rail? How do you track your vehicle when it is being shipped?

Convoy carrier = truck. In my case Ford put my car on a truck from MI. to Chicago. From ther it goes rail.

You need to call the ERL analyst and ask for your rail car #.

Big FYI: The analyst will ask for your name, and they have a record of dealer employee names, so give them your salesman's name, and give it when you call.

Once you get your rail car #, go here to track it: http://c01.my.uprr.com/pet/motorVehicleTrace.jsp

I must humbly disagree. This is a fine point, but a real one. Ford is not selling you a car. Ford sold the dealership a car. Your business is between you and the dealership, not you and Ford, though we all may think of it that way.

I don't think it's Fords or the Dealers fault. Neither of them have control over Union Pacific. Maybe there is a problem with the train or the track where your car is. Things happen that are beyond our control. Just be happy that your car has been produced and you'll be driving it before the end of the month.

There has been a rail car shortage issue for as long as i can remember. That is why the ETA is just that, an ESTIMATED delivery WEEK [not day]. There are so many factors in rail shipping especially across the country. I remember quite a few years ago we ordered a Mustang vert for a customer [we are in IL]. Car was 3 weeks overdue so we put out a trace. We eventually found tha tit went ona rail car by mistake to FL, from there to CA ands finally back to IL. It was over a month until it was finally delivered. Luckily it was winter and the customer was not that upset.

Look I own a manufacturing company and do work for GM (sorry it pays the bills) do you think that my parts could be a month late? After the stampings are day late there on the phone asking were the parts are.
The auto makers make the little guy hold to a delevery date they should too. And there is no excuse shipping a car to the wrong place. There are "quality systems" in place that should not let this happen.

You all are blaming FORD for something that's out of their control. Regardless if your buying GM, FORD, or Chrysler, cars get shipped by rail and there will be delays. Think back about 10 years when Union Pacific had all that congestion problems in Texas. Trains were taking months to get where they were suppose to be. I wonder how that effected people like us waiting for our cars.
