Are there any Mustang owners who drive 294 or 355 in Illinois? My new tire is in and I'm hopeing it fixes my vibration/bounce. Does anyone notice a very annoying bounce on these roads? It doesn't happen on I55 or I88. It is bad enough where I start to get sick sometimes. It's been at the dealer 2 times so far and they now say it is a bad tire.

It depends on what sections of 294 and 355. On 294 just about the majority of any lane Northbound from Cicero up to 88 can be rough or bouncy, especially after the first toll. Its the road... try a different car, in my sn95 the road was alot more noticable then in the s197s. As for 355 i know from 55 to Ogden it can be bumpy but depends on what lane your in, Tire noise on 355 is especially noticable since the majority of it is Hard concrete.

-What dealer are you working with, and how many times was it in? If nothing else take into another Ford Garage and see what their diagnosis is.

One way or another, Goodluck!

I'm at rod baker in Plainfield. Been twice for a total of 7 days. It's not that it's rough it actually bounces like the back of a tractor trailer. When I'm talking (with an earpiece) on my phone my voice sounds like I'm sitting on a paint shaker. Sometimes it's so bad that I hold the steering wheel at the bottom so that other drivers don't see my hand bouncing.

I've noticed some bouncing on these roads, especially I-88 west of Rte. 59. I know the reason they're fixing 88 east of 59 is the pavement issues they had there. I'm getting used to it, though. I remember the same feel in my Focus, just not as obvious. Good luck!

88 was so bad west of 355 that people would pull over thinking they had a flat tire! My problem isn't the wandering like that part of 88. I amd getting new tire Sat morning. We will see if it fixes the vibration. I asked if I could drive one of there other mustangs up 355 and they said no. I guess I'll have to wait till my coworker gets his GT and compare them.

Well they put my new tire on Sat. Turns out the old tire had about 3-4 ounces of water in it! That would have been fun when it froze! The tire also looked like it had some kind of leak repair inside. Anyway, THE VIBS ARE GONE!! Now those roads are just harsh like a good stiff suspension should be. No more bouncing like a jackhammer either. It is really like driving a different car. I can't say enough bad things about rob baker service dept. But that is for another topic and another day.
