Need help with code B2296 B2295 B2292 B2692
Hello everyone
Just purchased a 2006 Mustang convertible with a 4.0L V6. I m unfortunately getting the problems that the previous owner kindly not mentionned. Problem goes as follow:
Air bag light blinks and than stays on steadily. I have 4 codes:
B2296
B2292
B2295
B2692
I have checked wiring under the seats, nothing dammaged or cut, I have check connections on front impact sensor on rad support, every thing looks good. When I try to clear codes, they come right back.
car is all original with no modifications to the exception of an after market radio.
I have researched all over the web and different tech forum with no luck. I have found different thread for the trouble codes seperately but nothing for all 4 codes at once.
Any toughts or help would be highly appreciated

All of those at once sorta maybe sounds like the car was hit then repaired but the SRS module wasn't reset/replaced, but I am just speculating on that. Or possibly flooded and this is a result...
In any event, definitely a wiring issue or the module's gone bad. Wiring can look untouched, but connections can become corroded, or even shorted inside the loom. The shop manual's here: https://iihs.net/fsm/?d=1 But it may or may not contain the proper information for you to diagnose the issues. There are pages missing from the pinpoint test section in the higher alphabet, unfortnuately. So you might want to get a copy of the real deal for yourself.
And at the end, you may need a proper Ford or other highly functionable scan tool to fix this issue, or a mechanic with said device, as well as multimeter, test lamp, and/or circuit tester... diagnosing this thing could be a very time consuming thing, but that's sensors and wiring for ya.
Hope that helps. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but there ya go.
And welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the reply Houtex.
You were right by thinking that the issue was at the module.
I did take apart the side panels trims and checked all connections as well as ground studs. Checked all the sensors for corrosion for any type of defect. I finally found the source of the problem: the last owner told me they had just installed the new radio so It got me thinking. The srs module being located just beneath, I decided do take the dash trim apart to go inspect the module and bingo! The right side connector lock lever was pulled back and therefore no connection with the module. So I secured and lock the connector, reset codes and tested. Voila, no more air bag light!
so anyway, just wanted you to know the outcome and wanted to thank you for the help.
