Cool. Thanks.

Still not listed on the official Ford website, though, sadly. No way to build the car with it.

How you figure? That's pretty much industry standard price. And it's a Pioneer unit at heart.

Yeah, that's not out of line with the industry. Nissan/Infiniti sells theirs for $1,800 and the unit sold in the Camry goes for $2,200.

How I figure? I figure you can by a nice GPS unit at Circuit City for 500-800 dollars and put it in whichever vehicle you feel like using (if you have more then one car) and then if you sell the car you still have your GPS unit. Industry standard is a little bit pricey in me opinion....rip off!!!

I've been looking for it as well to see a picture. I ordered one in my Shelby GT. Yes, I know you can get a Garmin for cheaper but I wanted one that was clean in my interior and I am not selling my car...ever.

I'll get a Garmin to switch between my other two vehicles but this is one more option I have wanted in my Mustang since I first saw an aftermarket one in an '05. Rip off maybe...but it is financed in and that is the industry standard. I've been looking at many units and I just prefer the in dash units more.

Equivalent in dash aftermarket GPS systems with a 6" screen are $1,500 - $2,200, plus installation and have a 1 year warranty.
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Pione...oductDetail.do

Besides having a 6" screen, the factory GPS systems have the same warranty as the vehicle, 3 years in the case of the Mustang. In addition when you buy a Mustang you should be getting 5% to 8% discount on it which drops the price to $1,740 - $1,800.

Industry standard pricing is not that far out of line. If you're comparing the price to a little hand held GPS with a 3.5" screen, you're comparing apples to oranges.

You're also forgetting the whole audio equation. The Pioneer unit is a vastly superior audio deck to the Shakers, which, rumor has it, are always breaking down.

It's a 6 disc in-dash changer.

It doesn't play DVDs.

I don't know how it will integrate with the factory subwoofer system, or what the final amp rating is yet.
