my V8 has a hiccup??
my V8 has a hiccup??
Its always done it but seems to be happening more and more. I'll downshift or start from a stop and i'll lose all power for a split second. Although i have a C&L intake, i do believe it did it before the purchase of this. If i bring it to the dealer, i hope they don't blame it on the intake.
ive had the same problem. Its an automatic. For me it would sometimes happen on the way to work. But would always happen at the same stop light. It was a 55min drive on the interstate, and as soon as I get off and stop at the light, it would pause for a second before going anywhere. But always made me feel like an idiot because once it kicked back in, it would jump. Like I wasn't a good manual driver.
I bought some Seafoam thinking it was something with the fuel. But I don't work there anymore, and my drive is completely different. But figured it was something to do with cruising for a while at the same speed.

There is a TSB out for the fuel pump issue. You should just be able to explain the issue to the dealer and have the pump replaced under warranty.
IS there any documentation for this problem, so I can go to them, and tell them exactly what the problem is. And not have to enplane the whole story of what happens, and then they have to see if there is a TSB?
Check out the Technical Service Bulletins on this site in the Waurantee and service section.
TSBs are not recalls but tech instructions for common problems. You need to review TSB 06-09-09 Hesitation on Acceleration. I had mine taken care of. The fuel pump diaphragm on some fuel pumps leak/lose pressure, causing the symptoms you are describing after long drives at a constant speed.
I quoted the TSB number and left a copy of it in the car when I dropped it off at the dealer. Occasionally, some dealer service managers will want to verify the symptoms but for this problem, it would require more drive time than would be customary so you may have to explain more about the symptoms your car has than let them figure it out on their own by driving it. Make sure the techs will do the replacement by accessing the pump from under the rear seat (as opposed to dropping the tank). The dropping the tank method has occasionally caused returns to the dealer for vibration issues for not clocking the driveshaft properly upon re-assembly.
This link should take you right to the appropriate TSB...

+1 It has happened to me before also. I was on a 2 hour drive with cruise control and about an hour and a half thru I downshifted and it "hiccuped" but it went away after i turned the cuise off
