I'm sure they were mounted there because that's where the original GT badge is. And if what I'm hearing is correct the GT badge has 2 pins that go through the fender. He probably put the new badges over the existing holes.

It's not a GT so, he had no holes to begin with. I realize that he put the emblems where his other mustang has them but, they don't look right. The newer model isn't exactly the same. I would have put them where the GT emblem is located on a Mustang GT.....a little higher up. Still classy and adds a nice touch though.

I did try them up higher to begin with but they didn't look right. So I tried them lower..ala 67 location, and they seemed to look better there. The badges are from the 64 1/2 - 68 era, the fact that they don't have an engine size on them, i.e 289, tells you that its a V6. The badges had 4 pins on the back that I cut off and ground down. I then put 2 way automotive tape on the backs and stuck them on. I did not want to drill holes in the fenders :nono: This way I can take them off if I change my mind.

As for the cars in the background...The one under cover is a 64 T-Bird with a 390 in it :worship:. The other one with the pushed in front bumper is a 2 door, 62 Lincoln with a 462 in it.

Thanks for all the comments and please keep them coming!!

Understand why you went low, I think midway between the door handle and the lower edge of the "C" indentation (vertically) would have looked better, but all we have are eye-level photos, try posting one from a 4-year-old's height, that will probably straighten everyone out.

Rats. I was going to remove the GT badges when I got my car, but not at the expense of filling the holes. Oh well

BTW...nice car!

I like the badges. Although since the car is supossed to be more retro I would go with the badages followed by the mustang letters. Like tgis on on a 64 1/2.

I don't think there is enough room on the '05 fender for them. IMO It would look too cluttered. There was way more room on the 64 1/2-68 fenders between the wheel opening and the door.

I agree. But there's unfortunately no room for the MUSTANG lettering. Maybe unless they put it above or somewhere under the emblem.

Actually, I'd move the emblem up slightly and then put the lettering below it. I think that'd look good.
