My pony has a ghost
Ok,
The other day I was on my way to a job interview and I stopped at a gas station to pick up some gum. I get out of my car and leave it unlocked. The driver side window is down and I proceed to go in. I come out and get in the car and start to open the gum.
The alarm starts to sound. With keys in hand I push the unlock button to disarm. The alarm stays on. I stick the key in the ignition and rotate it and the alarm goes off.
I thought it was rather odd, but went about my business.
Today I got my head in the puter looking for work and the pony is in the garage.
Doors locked, alarm set.
The dang alarm starts to sound again.
I run out thinking the neighbors cat or something tripped it. Not cats, no nothing.
Tried the unlock with the remote. No go.
Opened the car, got in, tried once again with the remote. No good.
Stuck the key and turned her on. She shuts off.
I think she has a ghost or at the very least a gremlin.
Anyone else experience these oddities?

I'm no expert on the subject by any means, but it sounds like there may be soomething wrong with your remote. If the remote does in fact unlock the car, maybe the remote and alarm system are just not linking up properly. I'd take it to the dealer and see if they can do anything for you.
I've tried using the unlock to shut off the alarm and sometimes it works and sometimes not. Yersterday my alarm went off and I stood right next to the car and the unlock would not shut the alarm off. Finally I pushed the alarm button and it stopped.
Had a similar thing happening to me on a regular basis, finally figured out that I was inadvertantly hitting the panic button while remote was in my pocket on the edge of a chair I kept leaning over. Keep it in other pocket now, hasn't happened since.
I agree about the remote. Maybe one of the bottons are sticking. You know like with a TV remotes, they some times stick and keep changeing the channel. Take it to the dealer to be checked out. Hope that it is the problem and nothing worse.
OK, here come the stupid question...just got my car last night and was up until 500 in the morning playing with it. How do I arm the alarm, hit the lock once or twice, if I hit it a second time I get a chirp out of the horn...the book is a little confusing or I am a little worn out!

Dave, I think its when you hit it ONCE, (my lights flash) that is alarmed. I think the horn chirp is in case you wasnt sure if the lights flashed, (maybe being too bright outside or whatever) But I rarely hit it twice b/c I hate that horn blowing LOL
I think once is all it takes!
