Is midlife only for men? I am 45 and I was just as much of a mess as my husband waiting for the car. We waited for our GT since we placed the order in November 2004. She came home with us in March 2005. We had wanted this car since we saw the concept car two years ago. We love this car. We took her on her first road trip this weekend. We went to Virginia to see my family, we live in Pa. She is a Vert and we drove the whole 4 1/2 hours with the top down. Is was warm but we felt great. So enjoy your baby as much as we do. No midlife problem here, midlife dreamen.

I think my wife will say the same... she'll walk by and see me on this forum and say "what are you doing now" "how much time can you spend on that computer". I know she'll be happy when the car gets here.

Hey Brian, did you find your car on the lot? or did you order? I bet that was a great drive back from Alton. That's a good distance to go for a car... I know other had to go farther but still...
I went to school near Alton back in the early 90's. My wife is from Springfield and her sister's family live in Wadsworth. I'll be there visiting when Ford is building my 06 GT the first week of August.

Great looking car... I think those bullit rims look the best on that bright red.

Found it on the lot, actually it was listed on EBAY. I found alot of dealers don't list the GT's in their inventory, rather they see how much they can get on ebay. So I spent weeks on EBAY emailing dealers asking if they would sell at msrp (instead of markup). Through a bit of good luck over the weekend of the 4th, I found Roberts would sell it at sticker so I drove down on the 5th. Was a sweet ride home for sure.

Of course its not only for men.....its just a little more rare.
I think its double fun when you can both be on the same page in your co-midlife crisis's. Glad you are enjoying your vert!

53 here and only 5 more days until my torch red vert arrives.

You know, as I read the above posts and others I can feel the excitement in your responses. It comes jumping across the screen. Seriously! 25, 35, 55--It doesn't matter. The excitement this vehicle generates transverses all ages.

Congrats, Brian on your new GT!! Love the RED!

I tell you what. On the road trip down we saw a few 05s, most V6 but love looking at them anyway. The further out we got the more I became aware that I had not see another 05 for hours. We stopped for a bite to eat and we put the top up. When we went to leave there we people walking all around the car. And the finger prints and hand prints were everywhere. I think this car attracts so much attention and the car is all ours. I giggle every time it happens. Thats Ok, we had a few bug guts on the car too and as soon as we got her home, she got a bath. No more finger prints and now she is as good as new.

I feel bad you have another five days. It was hard for us too. Thought we were going crazy. I hope it comes sooner then planned.

I am so thankful we have this forum. Not everyone understands how we all feel about this car. But we have each other here. Right? I will watch for your baby to arrive. Can't wait to see her. Good luck.

49, turning 50 in the fall, again with the support of my wife ordered GT convertible. Have had it for five weeks and never fails to put a smile on my face whan I take it for a drive, or see it parked outside of my office. I like to call it therapy not mid-life crisis.

You know what. I just had a thought, if my Greatgrand Mothers lived to be 83, and my Grandmother was 85 when she passed. That means I have great genes and could have another 40 years to enjoy life. Another 40 year, that I could enjoy this car or later buy another Mustang After all I have a 65 Vert, and now the 05GT. Boy they look pretty together.

Last night I watched a report about personal air machines. You think Ford will join that train? I would love to see a Mustang in the sky!
