The point I was trying to make was that there are all sorts of tastes in cars / trucks / motorcycles out there. The fact that your neighbor chose to do something with his car that doesn't necessarily appeal to you should be weighed against the alternatives and also in consideration of his own personal tastes..

I've had a couple of people lay into me for having put a Shaker hood-scoop on and the louvers in the rear window. Called a BOSS/Mach-1 wannabe. Maybe so - but you know what? I could really care less that some people may not like my car. I like it and that's all that really counts..

What do I know about racing?
I've got multiple Regional and Divisional SCCA Championships under my belt and have been involved with wheel to wheel competition for 40 years now (this year).. Yep - I'm an Auld Phart, but I can still drive the wheels off my racecars..
It's irrelavent if it ever saw competition. It's still a purpose-built race car.

At any rate, I did state it was his car and money so I don't really understand why you're harping on that particular aspect of this discussion.

And I like the looks of your Mach/Boss tribute. I see nothing wrong with doing that. The car looks like it may have rolled off the factory line that way and to me that means you built the car right.

Personal taste is irrelevant when it comes to putting a 20lb wing on the back of a Mustang. It doesn't belong there. Burn the heretics!

Unfortunately there are no rules when it comes to personalizing ones Mustang. I guess this gives him the right to "Wing" it as he sees fit.

He has every right to do whatever he wants to his car...

And we have every right to say it's fantastic/OK/awful...

What a great country!

There is a thin line between personal taste and bad taste a big ricer wing on a mustang is bad taste.....

All you people that think the GT-R = Rice . . . stay away from the race track. You might get an overdose of "rice".

Yah I'm sure the Ford Racing team isn't going for looks by adding a wing.

OK, instead of saying "rice", maybe we just mean "looks like crap!"

Guess that depends on if one likes 'race cars'. As a 'race car' that GT-R, in my opinion, looks well . . . like a 'race car' which I think looks good. As a street car . . well the wing looks a little excessive.

No arguements here... ever seen the wing on a top fuel dragster?

That thing would give WRX drivers Spoiler Envy.

It's cool (as is your 'stang).

I actually like everything my neighbor did to his car except the wing. If he had put on a nice ducktain (or at least left the OEM wing), I would have been raving about how nice it looked.

Come on! Let's show some sympathy.
