Unhappy My neighbor ruined his '05!!!

My neighbor across the street has (or should I say had) a really nice '05 Mineral Grey GT. He put on white stripes, a fairly nice hood with dual scoops, side scoops, and louvers on the rear side windows. So far it sounds OK, right? Well, he topped it off with the biggest, ugliest, ricer wing I have ever seen!

I suppose it's his car and he can do what he wants but it just makes me sick to my stomach to see such a nice car abused like that!

If I can get pics I'll post them.

I don't think so....

If he likes that wing - more power to him. His car and it really only needs to please him..

Look at the bright side - it could be some hopped up EVO with NAWS!!!!

Considering that's an actual RACE CAR and the wing is FUNCTIONAL, no I don't consider it rice. On a street car like his, I do call it RICE.

Perhaps there is a logical explanation for his behavior.

Have you considered the possibility he was a pilot fired after it was discovered he was having an affair with a flight attendant who was two timing him with the CEO who happened to be his brother-in-law and the only way he can have the wings of man feeling is by adding that ridiculous wing?

Come on! Let's show some sympathy.

I'd consider the GTR taillamps, but that wing looks like it needs to go to the Volkswagen Un-Pimp factory. ...Oh, Snap!

The wing on the GTR is NOT RICE. Its serves a purpose, to keep the rear end planted at high speeds.

So, what you're saying is that he's a "s-winger."

Unless you're planning on making high speeds passes at Talladega, that tail is ridiculous. IMO it looks like it's straight from the prop department for 'The Fast and the Furious'.

Thats ok, my neighbor up the street bought an 06 V6 silver convert, 2 weeks of having it his wife crashed it into a fire hydrant. luckily the hydrant wasnt working and no water shot out, but certainly did mess up the front end of the car. had it sitting in his driveway for a week before he got it fixed. but then again this is a neighbor who constantly calls the cops on me for speeding in the neighborhood with my stang.

When he's not out driving it, he keeps it in the garage. I guess I'll have to wait outside with a camera one day until he leaves.

Sorry but the GTR never served a day in competition. Not legal in any class for either the SCCA, ALMS or IMSA. Might work in something like NASA's AIX class but since it was a prototype and not a production car - I sincerely doubt it..

The point I was trying to make was that there are all sorts of tastes in cars / trucks / motorcycles out there. The fact that your neighbor chose to do something with his car that doesn't necessarily appeal to you should be weighed against the alternatives and also in consideration of his own personal tastes..

I've had a couple of people lay into me for having put a Shaker hood-scoop on and the louvers in the rear window. Called a BOSS/Mach-1 wannabe. Maybe so - but you know what? I could really care less that some people may not like my car. I like it and that's all that really counts..

What do I know about racing?
I've got multiple Regional and Divisional SCCA Championships under my belt and have been involved with wheel to wheel competition for 40 years now (this year).. Yep - I'm an Auld Phart, but I can still drive the wheels off my racecars..
