I would personally wait for the manual. If this was something like wheels or side airbags, I could have lived with the mistake, but not on something that you will notice every single second while driving the car.
Have the dealers compensate for their mistake.
My dealer is cool, he sent me a copy of the DORA and had me sign and fax the DORA approving my order.
That is how I found out my order was priority 99 to start with, which was later changed.

rap1977, what dealer did you order from? I am curious as I am from the chicagoland area and haven't seen a dealer with 05 stock yet. Sorry to hear about what happened!

 

I ordered from Al Piemonte on North Ave. The sales manager was really straight forward with me about the mistake and the fact that he knows little about the car since mine is the first one they got in. He told me they put an order in for the car i want and were able to get a priority 1 (does priority 1 even exist) cause he told someone from Ford what happened. But i caved and deceided to go with the auto after driving it. After contemplating for a while, i realized auto might be better suited for me anyway. I drive in stop and go traffic a lot and i dont plan on drag racing so manual would probably be more of a hastle in the long run for the few tenths i would pick up in the quarter Mi. He didnt charge me extra for auto and threw in remote start. He said the reason he screwed up is that the auto and manual are both 5-speed this year. SO i guess he didn't look closely enough at the order and just saw 5-speed and didnt see the auto after it
When i first looked at the sticker, i saw a $5000 up charge and almost walked out right there, but the MG was like "i wouldn't do that to you after screwing up your order" like he was doing a favor for me. Hopefully Ford will get mustangs to dealers quicker now so people stop getting gouged by dealers.
Maybe i'll regret it later but i just had to have this car after driving it. As long as I don't ever drive the manual version i won't know any better...ignorance is Bliss

The jury is still out on if the mtx is faster then the atx. I'll bet the atx is going to be the hot setup for the 1/4.

Who cares if they got a auto instead, Ford can't even produce the manual for another month. I don't get what the big deal is? It's not like you had to wait longer?

 

Manual hold is only the V6, not the GT.

 

At least you dont have to listen to the 3650 whine For all intents and purposes the ATX is fine, if not truly better for most people. The 1/2/3 shifts are very fast and smooth.
