WOW, thats a 1st for me! I've used these keys in my past 3 company cars and have not had 1 problem. For that matter, none of our customers have had any issues with the keys either. I would say its an isolated incident, IMO.

Yea my wifes Milan has that key. Never had any problems here either. Plan on getting the fusion key for my stang as well. Much better than having a seperate fob.

Just out of curiosity, did you get it from Ford? Or on ebay? I wonder if there are aftermarket look alikes?

Good point Tony. You never know if its a real OEM key or a cheap-o remake.

Got it cut, did the programming, works great! Feels very solid, looks original, but who knows?

Does the key tuck into the fob? The broken area of the key looks like it swivels to the right.

Yeah, I kind dug inside to get any plastic out and used super glue and shoved it back in. So far so good.

I bet it was not a new key, just a new blank. The first one I ordered from them showed up in the mail broke like that. The only thing that holds the key in place, is a small plastic stud that goes in the hole in the key blank. I like you just filled the area with glue.

So there is a very good chance that this is not an OEM FORD product.

No I would say it is a OEM parts, just got it out of a junk yard or something like that. If you can find the new blank, just pop the old fob open, and install the new blank. When I got mine, it had a small nick in it, so I knew it wasnt new. Not a big deal.

This has been discussed in another thread. Mine broke over the summer. The eBay keys tend to be existing keys with new blanks installed. While they may seem new, they are not. The new blanks seem to break after a while.

My key in that thread.

Typical. This is why I rarely buy stuff off ebay. Mostly people trying to get rid of junk that usually appears good but isn't.

I bought a couple replacement keys for my Chrysler vehicle on Ebay last year and even though they weren't OEM products, they were still replicated after the Chrysler keys and was the same thing with the exception of the Chrysler wing on it.

The keys on ebay are nothing but refurbish junk. I recently bought a key from remotehub on ebay. When the key came it had a big nick in it. The back was all scratched up from use and there was food and dirty finger stains from use all over the key.

The seller told me he also carried used keys and that they sent out the wrong ones. Bunch of bull crap. He told me to exchange the key, but im sure he is going to send me an another one thats refurbish but just in better condition.

Should I use ask for a full refund? The shipping was supposely $12 to send something that cost at most $4.

How much are the new keys at the dealer?

the way those keys are assembled, I bet if you put them in your back pocket and sat on it the wrong way it would beak...I broke 3 keyless entry fobs the past 5 years- too many keys on the ring, they get folded together the wrong way and you sit down- crack...

theres a thread in here about cutting the standard fob, and epoxying in the standard key- looks stronger than that fusion type to me...
