My friend just got an 06 mustang gt, need a little help

It's an 06 gt that he got from an auction and he wants to buy my jlt intake and tuner. But the thing is, we have reason to believe that the car might be tuned with some sort of 'superchips' deal or something. Now since that is different than plugging in the sct (i assume), would there be any sort of harm by sct tuning his car when there might be a chip or something already installed? Or will the sct flash everything and override whatever is there?

Also, anyone know how we would be able to check if it has one in the first place?

best bet is taking the vehicle to a reliable tuner so they can look over the car and give you there recommendations. dont know any reliable tuners in or near your san diego area so maybe someone else can chime in on that part.

Has it been Smogged Yet for Registration Transfer. Have it done at the dealer and have them check for Stock pcm Calibration. If it's not you will need the stock tune down the road anyway.

In CA the seller is responsible for getting the vehicle smogged, although since its an 06 it may not be required. Id second the idea of having the pcm check at a dealer. What gives you the impression it has been modified? As far as tuners go, Spankin Time in San Bernadino, RET in LA area are two of the best. SCT should be able to give you a list of approved tuners also.
