My Exciting Mustang Story
#23
JustAnotherDude, you got me second guessing myself about the color now. I was told it was the grey, so I assumed it was the mineral grey but it was not as dark as the pictures online show. And I thought the Satin Silver was a metallic paint. Am I wrong on that? This car did not have a metallic paint job. So if it was indeed the mineral grey, it was a lot lighter than the pictures on the web show it. Overall it was a nice color but I think that a metallic version of that color would look much better. So you guys may have to correct me on the color after I get the pictures and post them. The Ford people came in two cars, the other was the Torch Red, but the magazine layout people didn't think the red would work for the cover so we only shot with the grey car.
The grey one that I drove had blue Michigan Dealer plates and had just over 900 miles on it. The two Ford guys just drove it in, they were not a trailers or anything. These were just regular production GT's nothing "special" about them.
Thanks everyone for the interest in my story. This community of "friends" is great. It is fun to share my experience with all of you because I think you can imagine how I feel. As some of you have said, I am one lucky Mustang fan. I really still can't believe that they asked me to do the photo shoot. I kept thinking that they would find that the car itself was enough and they didn't need me in the picture. But I far as I know, they did not take any pictures of just the car. I guess they could still "photoshop" me out, right?

This is so interesting and exciting! Congratulations Malo! I'm sure we are all envious, but proud at the same time that one of "us" got invited for the shoot! Good luck to you and I hope your car arrives soon!

Here is a scan of the cover and the inside picture. The article is about all new cars this year, but a couple of paragraphs talk about me and the Mustang. Being on the cover is surreal. It just doesn't feel like it is me on the cover.
