I am from a relatively small town and I had a chat with my local dealer about the 2005. See my last post for my dilemma. Anyway using all the knowledge I had gained here we talked about the 2005 for some time. He told me that they will be getting only a few in right away. I then asked him about prices and he told me that he has heard that prices are expected to increase 1000 1200 (Canadian as I am Canadian). He said that Ford won't raise them any higher then "typical inflation". He felt that 1-2% is expected. He also confirmed that all Canadian models will have spoiler as a standard on V6's as per what the order guide says. Please see my last post.

Thanks

saw ur last post........i responded. i had a chat with the local dealers too. they said alottment will be 2/dealer for low volume. 3or4/dealer for high volume. i been calling like 5 dealers. the spoiler delete is an option with no credit gain. otherwise its standard. i havent heard of the increase. but since i was at the pony drive i talked to an engineer from ford who is getting one and said the car is 28,000 loaded. soo if ur seriously lookin into the car u should get it

Thanks

Given that I am from Canada and a recent college graduate I am stuck with a V6. $28,000 is a $hit load of Canadian dollars and GT's don't come in my price range (like about 36, 38 thousand). Spoiler is standard on a V6 in Canada, which its not in the US.

Thanks for the post

jeffro

Only confirmed pricing right now is that the V6 will start under $20,000 (US). Everything else is conjecture, rumors, or just plain made up. It doesn't really make any sense to discuss it now.

I'm not trying to come down on you, we've just had about 200 of these already. Lets put it this way: What would some random dealer in Canada know that the rest of the dealerships don't? Nothing. And if the rest of the dealerships knew, so would we.

You might want to read the FAQ thread.

we think it will be a 4/5 or 5/6 split between the two stores we have.

Finally picked up my DORA today.
Dealer told me that it really doesn't mean anthing.

I told him it woud be a trophy that I would show here.

Anyway, asked him about alotment. They're still only getting 2

That was at 2:30 PST this afternoon.

However, this is technically new information. I think this isn't a "What do you think it will cost" thread but rather jeffro is stating what a dealer told him. Totally different IMO. One of these times, the info will be concrete and we might here it though a source like this first before we get it officially out of ford.

Just as we may call it BS, it could be legit. Who knows?

So, my point is: read it, make a personal judgement and either respond or ignore the thread.

P.S. I know we've had a lot of repeated threads but some really aren't as bad.

Dan, I agree with you. I enjoy hearing about other ppl's experiences with their dealers. It is helpful, and in combination with other information on this site helps all of us who are trying to navigate towards the '05 purchase. Eventually it will all come out in the open, but until then it is pretty interesting to see it unfold as it is/has.

I'm glad this thread came up. Now I know for sure that I will have to choose the spoiler delete option even though I'm only getting the v6. That is, of course, assuming that that option remains the same between now and ~2008.

Why does everyone want a spoiler delete??????? It looks good, I wish the person who originally specced my car hadn't gone for it!! IMHO of course......

Why do you car? It's not your car. It's mine. I like the clean lines without the spoiler. You like the spoiler. Buy yours with the spoiler, I'm getting mine without.

Through all the research I've done regarding the '05, I have come accross the same pricing info ('05s will be priced for inflation). That has been Ford's general statement regarding price so far. Again, IMO I believe this is simply conjecture, as no one in Ford is quite sure what the price will be. However, IMO the new Mustang will be a little higher than the inflation adjustment, but not by an obscene amount.

The dealer is just stating the average. Every year, cars go up in price somewhere from 1.5-3% on average. No "information" there, like I said its just conjecture on the dealers part.

I'm from a Small Town in Canada. and My dealer tould me maybe around Christmas we'll see one on the floor. He doesn't think it will be a GT though. So I can't see some people getting 5 or 6 of them off the back. theres to much demand for them.

My dealer once told me he thought he would only be getting three or four 2003 Cobras during the entire year. Later I went back when he had 26 in stock and laughed at him...

As a general rule, dealers know less than any other life form.
