OK so heres the story, I went down to JBA Friday and they installed the new Steeda Triax Shifter into my car (which is real sweet by the way) for an upcoming tech article in 5.0 Mustangs and Super Fords Magazine. I get there and as usual they have all these sick cars lined up in the parking lot, several late model Cobras (super tricked), a 65 Stang race car, a 70 Boss, the JBA 05 (got to take out for a spin to check out exhaust), a Shelby Cobra, the Stallion Auto Concepts 98 Cobra (pics in these links that follow, its for sell for $30,000 w/ under 10,000 miles on it by the way) and many other sweet rides.

I got to spend the day with the journalist/photographer and mechanic watching the install and listening to really cool stories from people that have gotten to drive sick rides, the journalist was full of them, he actually took the 05 Supercharged Saleen home for the weekend and has raced Le Mans. Did you guys know that both Roush and Saleen blew their engines in the 05s they had at SEMA while showing them off on the track that week. Anyway so the shoot and install went great and when it was finished I took the journalist out for a spin in my car and let him drive it a bit so he can get a feel for the new shifter. Its a great shifter, not too noticable on the difference in distance between shifts, but it is much more precise and accurate. A tad bit louder but it doesnt bother me, make sure if any of you do this install lube it before hand to save time later, (not in instructions) because it tends to be a little tight at first (especially fifth), they have to go back and do this tomorrow. I took it home for the weekend to see if it just needed to be broken in, but their Steeda Q had the same problem and when I went back today (more sick cars: a 70 Torino GT and the Steeda Q) they had fixed the problem on the Steeda by adding lubricant, couldn't do mine today because they had their lifts all in use. The install seems simple enough if you can get your car in the air a bit so you can get under it and work easily, took a long time because they had to go slow to take pics (I will post mine shortly as soon as I get them developed) but it should take 2 hrs according to Steeda, but it seemed like it could be done in about an hour and even a novice could do it, simple 14 (or so) step install.

I will update when I find out when the issue is coming out, also look out for an upcoming Road and Track issue that shoots tomorrow, that will pit the Saleen against JBA's Steeda Q (the silver one). Roush was suppose to be there but they aren't done tuning it apparently. Although I was over at Symbolic's garage today as well and they had a silver one. If anyone is in iterested in the Stallion Concepts Cobra PM me and I will send you info in how to get in touch with the guy. I also removed my mufflers today to see how it sounds, it is SICK, very nice throaty sound. Now I need to find a place to create pipes to bolt up so I can easily replace for warrenty work.
