My boyhood 14 year Mustang quest finally over...

Some of you may remember me from a while ago, lurked on the forums asking annoying questions about color combos, so rediculously indecisive it was just down right silly. I ordered on Xplan from a local dealer who led me on for a long long time. No build date in sight I ordered my car from another dealer who will be credited later.

I have wanted a Mustang for as long as I could remember. My dad fueled my head with tails of the dragstrip, and Independence Speedway. Trophies, stories of earth shaking exhaust, jaw dropping power and the 1971 Mach 1 Mustang began my obsession with the car. The car at that age financially was just not feasible.

Years past, and in 2004 the concept came out that made my eyes go but thought it was out of reach. I turned 25, called my insurance guy and said "what the heck, lets just see what he says" What he said made me a happy man. It was realistic. And you know what I was going to order one. So I did, found a local small dealer who would honor Xplan, waited for the 06 and sat stalled in wait for six months for a Tungsten stang that would never come. I cancelled my order and went to another member Ed Miller more commonly known as ISELLFORD.

After a month or so, I lost my job and after a series of terribly unfortunate events had to cancel my order. I was crushed, seemed to be my dream and obsession was dead. Months passed. Through financial troubles and tribulations I kept it in the back of my head. I didnt like going to the TMS forum because i had to see Mustangs, then I saw the Grabber Orange. It refueled my desire to get one. My awesome wife said she would go back to work so I could get one I contacted Ed again and said lets go for it.

Now here is the thing about Ed Miller. This man is hands down without a doubt the best, most understanding and accomidating dealer I have ever dealt with. In a time when old school service is a thing hard to find Ed Miller lives and breathes it. After doing everything in his power to accomidate me, going well out of his way to assist a forum member (again no doubt) he still made me and my family feel like we where doing him the greatest favor in the world. He answered all of my annoying little questions, and it was obvious to me that he understood that to me this car was much more to me than just a car. Its a piece of my families history and a boyhood connection to my father that I can not put a price on.

Today I drove to East Moline and picked up a car that I have wanted since I was a boy. Everything about it is perfect, ironically its almost exactly opposite of what I originally ordered, but driving it home today was a long long time coming. I just wanted to share my story with the forum and let anyone know how much I appreciate Ed Millers service excellence, and also the forum who has graciously put up with my novice inquiries. I look forward much to the road ahead.

Congratulations from California as well! Glad to hear that there is at least ONE honest car sales person around...

Wasn't getting up in the morning and rushing to the garage to see your new pony a lot like Christmas as a kid?

Congrats!

I will definately agree, Ed is without a doubt, THE greatest car dealer I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Granted, I am a young'un (23 years old), I read plenty of horror stories about car dealers, seen some bad deals go down, ect... and I've never heard anything bad about Ed at all. When I met Ed, I was immediately comfortable, when most car dealers put me on the defensive. I would drive all the way to East Moline (400 miles one way) in a heart beat to buy another car from Ed.
