My 2007 GT will be here June 21st!
I had asked my peeps two questions earlier this week. When the car would be here and if Grabber Orange was or was NOT a metallic clearcoat.
Well, they said they were still checking on the paint question, but in the meantime, they gave me an ETA at the dealer of June 15. Seeing how Job 1 is this Monday (6-5) I questioned the ETA. I mean, c'mon. 10 days from Job 1?
So she checked again and said the ETA was not correct. (A-Ha!!) She apologized and said they pushed it back to June 21st. A whopping 6 days! I was furious... NOT!
So as I write this, I'm looking at 19 days until I see my Grabber Orange baby. I'm still betting I'll be the first TMS member to pick up their '07. Anybody want to bet against me?

I have an 07 Premium GT on order scheduled to be built next week, the question nobody seems to know at the moment is when Ford will release the invoice so that the car can be sold to me. I hope it is around the third week of June, but like all I am at the mercy of the company.

Hmmmm Pitpup....I might have to take you up on that one. I'm scheduled to be built next week.
Did I tell you I also live in Flat Rock. Just kidding on that one. I hope it's here before Father's Day as this is my father's day present (and every other holiday gift for the rest of my life according to my wife) gift to myself.

VOPC tells me I'm scheduled to be built week of June 12, 2006 and Customer Service says Estimated Delivery Date is June 19, 2006. That seems to be pushing it. Guess when the day finally arrives, I'll be singing "happy fathers day/mid-life crisis to me".

Many thanks for all the kind words above. Yeah, I forgot about that Father's Day thing. Hmm, I guess asking for a Shelby would have been a bit much. I'll 'settle' for the GT, if you can call it settling. Geez, like I could afford the insurance on the GT500!

Considering I'm coming up on 45, I'd definitely call this my mid-life crisis.
I told a friend of mine on his 50th birthday that I know that he'll live to be 100. He said that was great but asked how I knew that. I said, "Look at you....you're 50 years old and you look half-dead!!!"

Hey, let's stop all this "mid-life crisis" talk right now! You guys are depressing me! I look at it this way...I can't be in a mid-life crisis because I've never actually grown up! The only difference I see is that now I can afford to buy things I want without having to ask someone else (thanks Mom and Dad!) for the money or permission to buy them!

Hey Steevr, I'm 48... and Bob99b5, the wife sez I'm going thru my 2nd midlife crisis. Hmmm, I musta missed the first one! I've been driving the '97 Tbird since early '98. Nary a Porsche nor Corvette has ever touched the asphalt in my driveway. Yep. Flat out missed it, I did.

Thx, Burke... and the good news is, the wait won't be very long. Just realized the wife will be out in Cali when it comes. Will have to take my friend Walt with me. He had an LX 5.0 before he got the Monte Carslow. We'll be like those guys on the Ford commercial where the ol' man looks over and says, 'You want to do it again?' (Vista Blue w/ stripes burnin rubber like a big dawg... I'm sure you've seen it.)
As we used to say in the Navy as we approached the end of our enlistments... "I'm a two digit midget"...

Hoops, I had my VIN on 4/13 (Ordered 3/14). I haven't pushed for the build date, but for the ETA date instead. They've told me 6/21 and when I called Customer Service in MI, they confirmed it...Looks like it might be time to light the fires and kick the tires?
