My 2006 Torch Red GT with Saleen VI Supercharger
Finally got around to taking out the Mustang GT after its long hibernation following this past winter... It was sure a gorgeous day for beginning the new car meet season
First drive of this spring to begin the new car meet season...

Thanks Lee! It's been quite awhile since last posting a pic, so finally got around to it this past Friday, as it was opening day to begin the new car meet season here in southwestern PA... Anyway, the car does indeed rip and can keep right up there with the first gen Coyote 5.0 4v... When the car was last on the dyno, it made 425RWHP @ 7.5 lbs. boost with 3.6" pulley... Not too shabby for a 4.6L 3v lol.

hard to believe that car is 17 years old ... looks brand new, and it's a timeless design, IMHO

Thank you Gary! Yes, It took quite a while to find enough motivation to finally get around to taking her out of the garage... I think Tony actually takes out his Roush/Stage3 more often than I take out my GT
Thank you John! Time has sure gone by fast during the past 17 years lol... My mileage is just barely over 31k original miles, so perhaps one of the reasons it continues to look in new like condition is that I only drive it to car meets during the spring, summer and early fall months... Other than that, she always stays garage kept under the car cover... I also don't expose the Mustang to rainy weather conditions, unless I'm caught off guard unexpectedly on those unpredictable rare occasions

That thing is beautiful, nasty with the blower. I love it Rocky. I wanted to put that blower or a Whipple on my 08 Shelby GT, but the cost outweighed getting rid of it for the 11 gt500 at the time.

IMO you made the right choice by upgrading to the 11 GT500 Lee ... In the meantime, I'll take and post an updated pic with the Saleen blower

The numbers and travel is just didn't work out for me. The economy was in the tank 09 - 11 and I could get a 500 5-6 thousand below sticker because you couldn't give them away with 5 dollar gas. So I went to the 500 and never looked back.
But I still miss the sgt, it was a fantastic car. I loved it, just down on power from what I liked.

I couldn't do it myself for physical reasons like I used to, but I had already talked to Brenspeed about it and Tasca so it would be certified as a GT/SC on the number plate on the CS Core support vin tag, only Tasca, Shelby Vegas and a place in Texas was the only ones authorized to do the gt/sc conversion kit and have the number with the big brakes and blower and gauges, etc.

Thanks for the kind words! I too love the S197. Wonder some days if I should update to an S550, but they just don't grab my eye like a nice clean well maintained S197 when I see one on the street.
Mine, like yours, is still low mileage. Still has that new car smell and shine. I have a hard time not looking back when she is parked and I am walking away. Ford did a great job with bringing back the excitement when they brought out the 2005 models. Even though mine is a 2014 and it is almost 10 years since I got her, I still look at the design and admire how beautiful these cars are. There are some S550s that I like, but not as much as these.

Right there with you. Loved the prototype S197! Glad they were able to keep it true to the styling. Ford gave us a modern day classic right from the gate of the S197. And you are right Ford sparked a return to the 60s/70s muscle car heritage in many lines by bring this car out. Glad they did it!

Ford most certainly did bring us a modern-day classic from the gate with the retro styling of the S197 Mustang... Former VP of design at Ford, J.Mays said the S197 Mustang was considered a retro-futuristic design which in my honest opinion is exactly 100% spot on...Also, had it not been for the huge success of the S197s retro styling, there would be no Dodge Challenger in existence following a 34-year extinction nor would have GM designed an all-new retro styled Camaro following a 7-year hiatus lol.

Just goes to show Ford is always #1 no matter how hard the competition is trying to catch up.
