My 2005 GT is at the dealer...
I got The Call from my dealer today. He's a good guy.
He warned me that the managers are going to try and squeeze me for more money, due to the hype surrounding these new cars. My dealer also told me to bring copies of all our correspondence, and to stand tight.
I've got a string of emails with my dealer (the good guy), with exact pricing and recognition of my deposit. While not exactly a contract, it's good enough to fight in court. Especially in consumer-friendly California.
After the wife gets back, I'll head over to the dealer to do battle.
I'm not giving them an extra penny. If they want to sell more cars to me and get the service $$$, they'll do the right thing and stand by their deal.
I'll update you all later today.

OK, I've got it!
I went in to the dealer, and it was sitting out there attracting attention (they were hosting a classic car show there, and my car was parked 50 feet from the cars in the show).
The manager tried to get me to meet him at some "middle ground", claiming that the salesman wasn't authorized to do the deal. I said "that's between you and him. He's a good salesman, kept me informed, and I hope you don't take it out on him, but it isn't going to affect my deal".
In the end, the manager said OK, but don't go around advertising the deal I got, because they are selling them for a markup over MSRP.
Fair enough. I got mine, at my price.
Oh, I guess I get one of these
I can't find my old digital camera, may have to run out tomorrow morning and buy one. This car is sweet.

Here is my personal review.
Mineral Grey: This is one of those subtle color shifting shades. In direct sunlight, it's a dark golden color. Indoors under flourescent (garage, showroom) it's more of a gray color, as it is under an overcast but otherwise light sky. For the same reasons that some people hate it (it's not grey, it's not gold), I LOVE IT.
Medium Parchment: This can look too plasticy-tan in some photos, but in person it is very nice. Especially with the Mineral Grey (the medium parchment brings out the gold in the paint).
IUP: Outstanding. You can get reflection into the drivers eyes if the sun is to the right side and a bit behind, but the reflection isn't bad and it's off to your right (bouncing off the passenger side dash), so it is never getting in the way of your vision. Only saw this once, it's rare.
Shifter: A bit notchy after a couple of years with an automatic, and prior to that a front wheel drive with a lousy shifter. But it is nice. Synchros are a bit tight, but not bad at all.
Gearing is very nice. It's great to know that 3rd pulls to about 100, so you can down shift from 5th to 3rd at freeway speeds if you really want to punch it
I haven't pushed it hard in turns. I've been driving an Explorer for quite a while, with gentle breakaway with it's offroad tires. I don't need to do anything stupid with so few miles on it. But it handles very neutrally, and turns very flat. I am very impressed (it puts my 1987/1988 GTs that I had to shame).
The sound from the mufflers is GREAT. It's a great balance between a louder performance car and a daily driver pony car.
People are coming up to me and asking me about it. Strangers, young guys, old ladies, the works. Had a brief chase with a Mustang GT (200x) tonight, I backed off but he wanted to speed and be crazy on a busy freeway. Not for me. There are literally NONE to be seen on the road, the local dealers just started getting them.
By the way, I am 6'7", and I fit just fine.
One thing that's a bit crazy: If you flip the seats up to let a kid in the back (which I will do DAILY), when it flips back down, it is TOO vertical. I need to find out if there is a way to set the default position to a bit more leaned back. It's literally straight up and down, nobody can sit in it that way, which means that every time my wife gets in, she'll have to lean the seat back.
Pix as soon as I can get them.
