Question

A the two dealerships by me that have GTs marked up to unbelieveable prices. I saw a satin sliver one for $33,000 and a black one for $30,000. Each at a different dealership and they both had written on them "fair market value" hahaha. Needless to say no one will even entertain the thought of selling me one under x-plan.

By the way on a side note does anyone know the best way to find out who the regional sales rep is for my area . I live in Orange County, NY. Please let me know.

Don't pay the price. If nobody pays that price, they will come down. The problem is, there are too many nitwits with too much money that do not know any better. :bang: MSRP is bad enough without market increases. Shop around, you will find someone who is willing to deal and give you the stang of your dreams. I would also not be afraid to wait a few months till these cars are more plentiful. It could save you a couple K.

I'm sure the reason for these prices is "The average life expectancy of a Mustang on a dealer lot is two hours.", from:

It's two hours when they sell it at MSRP or less.

There are Dealers out there that will give you X-plan prices on the 05 Mustang. I know, I already found one. If you can't find a Dealer like that then just wait, in a couple of months there will be lots of Mustangs available.

I can't imagine someone paying this much over MSRP

Is it me or is every mustang that's for sale on Ebay?

I have no problem paying $5,000 over sticker, I will just be asking for $5,000 over market value of my trade in.

I might be able to find out. What are you trying to find out? They are usually the least informed in the chain of command (not usually their fault)

Yeah just tell the dealership that it is a "Fair Trade Mark up Value"

The dealership is actually in Middletown, NY. Its called Healey on Rte 211. They have a black GT in right now and getting a Red GT in next week. Whatever you do DO NOT go anywhere near Monroe Ford in Monroe NY. They think they are big shots but trust me on this, they are the worst and they are the reason I am not driving my own GT right now! :bang: :bang: :bang:

Kapro, I just need to know so that I can send them a letter about what happened to me at Monroe Ford...they took my order and deposit under x-plan and when the car came in they said that it wasn't mine and they lost my order. They mailed me my deposit back and sold the car I ordered for $30,000 to some guy. :notnice:

Nope, I'm just happy it is selling well. I'm sure some dealers are increasing the price because they know the car is a hot seller anyways, and there will always be somebody willing to pay their asking price.

I'm will wait until the September 2006 and I'm going to get a 06 GT or SE, rebates should be good then, right now I'll just keep enjoying my 02 GT.

Remember, some of these insane markups early on are there so the dealer can actually KEEP one or two on the lot.

Dealers hate it when they don't even have one to show, so if they are going to lose that one, they're gonna make it worth their while.

Granted, some of it IS just gouging. But some of it is also strategy. As the supply issue eases up, so will those adjustment stickers.

At Starr Ford in Glendale, CA they had an LX with a 3,000 THREE THOUSAND DOLLAR MARK-UP selling for 26k and some change. ARE THEY CRAZY@ :nono: The sales lady said they will be adding a SIX THOUSAND DOLLAR mark-up on GTs when they come in. I told her that in a few months when the lots are full I could get one at invoice. SHe said probably not. I have purchased all of my stangs at invoice. Besides, mustangs have a poor resale value and depreciate quickly. 3,000 over MSRP is ridiculous. They have some nerve to try and sell an LX for that. RIP OFF. and if they want to put a 6,000 mark-up they can shove it.

That E-bay lunatic will be lucky to get his $40,000!! from the buyer. Insane.

With this crap going on, I feel lucky to be getting military prices. Less than MSRP, but with shipping and customs, back up to MSRP.

The dealer near my house has had a windveil V6 on the lot now for about 5 days. Maybe I'll offer 'em $15k for it to get it off their hands.
