Lightbulb My 1967 Shelby G.T. 350 Tribute Blog

Fellas,

I recently decided to makeover my 48,000-mile, lightly-modded 2005 GT into a 1967 G.T. 350 tribute, which I expect to take a couple of months to complete.

A few days ago, I started a blog that will follow the process from idea through completion. At least one forum member - Red454 - is already mentioned (with plenty of photographs), as he was indirectly responsible for the first inklings of the idea.

I just wanted to invite you to take a look, and if you like, follow along. You all know what its like to modify a Mustang, so if you don't spend the time, I won't blame you. But maybe some of you will find the process interesting, and I promise to post lots of cool pictures.

Of course, once this is completed, I will be here with plenty of pictures, showing her off!

make sure you get that classic emblem to put in your grill to really set that off.

There are some really nice tribute Shelby's on this forum. No two are the same, just in spirit. I'm paying tribute to the 2+2 edition.I put the one emblem on my CDC blackout panel and I get a lot on comments on folks that remembered those cool little fastbacks.

Nice! Do you have a few pictures you can post for inspiration?

FWIW, in my latest post I discuss my thinking behind my decision not to use Shelby emblems. That's my own personal preference, and I certainly don't fault anyone for choosing to go in a different direction. Those old school emblems certainly rock.

Hey bud, here are a few pics of my car. Once I get the Cervini's 67 hood, and add my fully painted CS front bumper (full lower bumper painted, no black in the middle), its pretty much done. Also gotta get over the issue I have with our glass people here at work, as I really do want the SHR louvers installed. I've had them in the box since they came out and still haven't added them yet. Just don't trust them to remove the glass from my car without scratching the car.

Thanks, Jeff! -

Yeah, I've been looking at yours for a while. You and Graypny are the two guys I see a lot rocking the CS67s (which I just got an email a couple hours ago saying they were picked up for delivery ). Everything looks super-clean. Thanks for the inspiration!

ETA: By the way, if anyone wants to get added to my notification list - so that you get an email when I post a new entry - just PM me with your email address!

Hey bud, thanks for the kind words. I'm flattered you've been checking out my ride. As for the CS67s? Its my favorite wheel BAR NONE!! I LOVE THEM!! No one around me has them and I must get about half a dozen complients at every show I take my car to. I've now had them for over 2 years now, and love them as much as the 1st day I got them. They were SO WORTH the year wait, as when they released in 2005, ony 20" were 1st available, and the 18" released 5/29 as I got them the day after Carlisle. Once Graypony added them to his car, the whole look changed completely for the better!! His car looks SICK with them!! These wheels just fit the look on the S197 Mustang.

Those wheels look a little different, with the verticle striations on each spoke. Are those the CS69s?

Yup, I've seen you post this car before.. nice!

Any updates to your build? I have been building one as well and I am interested on the direction you took. I check your blog but there were no updates for over a year.

Here is some shots of my GT-350 Tribute build
