This car had 482 miles on it at the time. and it had not been babied, idk if that made a difference?

My auto has no problems lighting them up. Either from a dead stop or if I'm going 20-25.

I haven't tried a burnout yet, but my GT will chirp the tires from a standstill with traction control on.

I will admit I was a little dissappointed when I couldn't light 'em up at will like I can with a stick, but I did spin em coming out of my friend's driveway today. A lot of it will depend on the surface. My AUTO GT has only 350 miles on it.

Come to an absolute dead stop, turn off the TC and OD. Just mash it. 75% of the time you should get something.

Doing burnouts is a waste of time in racing anyway. It may be good theatrics, but lousy for times. I've seen stock 4 cylinder/4 speed Pintos do burnouts, and even a 41 Dodge. It's not a big deal with a stick. Rev it up high enough and dump the clutch and you'll get smoke. And I'm pretty sure I'm faster than either of them
And if you really HAVE to have it, just do a little brake lock....in reality it's the eqivalent of dumping a clutch (higher RPMs than necessary to get you moving then suddenly release power=wheel spin)

The 4.6 isn't all that torquey off the line even with a manual. Even Consumer guide noted that it needs 3000 RPMs before it's in it's sweet spot, it's just more noticeable with the automatic, but not slower.

By old 90 5spd/5.0 LX convertible could fry the rear tires, but again it doesn't make it faster. Heck I could do brake locks in my Mark VIII and smoke the tires to a London Fog, but they didn't make any noise! I had to look in the rear view mirror to see what was happening. OoooH did I do that???

Yes it will do it. I can spin them a little with TC ON from a dead stop. If I turn it off, I get a little more spin. If I do a power brake, I get a pair of nice long marks....

I SAID DEAD STOP NO BRAKES OR LIQUID
it is not possible, believe me. wanna video next time? George has a warning level? ahha
I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME. READ WHAT YOU QUOTED AGAIN :bang:

Your Uncle's car not being able to lay down meat unassisted doesn't mean all auto equipped Mustangs can't do it.

I'll say it again. I've been able to since day one BEFORE running with a Predator tune, with meatier tires even

Yes it is. I'm able to burn em from a standstill, have been since day one before the predator tune.

If I brake torque it to 2000rpm, I'll lay thick rubber down for about 40 ft
That, brother, is because you are in Arizona, where the roads ARE semi-liquid from May through September.

I am telling you all what me and 5 other people saw. Dead stop, dry road, no sand, stone , water, or soap of any sort. Dead stop, TCS off. Tires would not do anything. I dont understand how everyone else can say they can do it when this car could not. and BTW my uncle did NOT buy it

Because it hooks...its a dog...?

5.1 out of an auto, and 13.5-13.6 quarter stock is a dog....

whatever....

So I guess my auto 02 V6 with bald tires, which could spin for ages...must be superfly cause it can squeal em....

And just because he couldn't do it...doesn't mean it can't be done...

No offense junior...but I'd rather have the car hook up then have a teenager be happy because I blew $30 of rubber for him

Apparently, he has an oddball or lemon (no offense intended). Mine can. On the flip side of your above statment, I can not understand why his can't. Get it dynoed, maybe something is off? My GT has 5600 miles on her and she has been able to leave rubber since day 1. Good luck.

My '05 GT Manual works just fine....seems to get great rubber in 1st and 2nd and 3rd usually when I'm having fun...no brake needed here. Just get the revs up and let the clutch go. You gotta know how to drive a car to get the full potential out of it. I beat the living H#!! outta my car cuz that's what it's made for...and no offense but a "driving review" coming from a 14 year old kid......kinda makes me laugh.

Put me in the "Can Do" club. I can get a little spin from a dead stop, even with the TC on. If I'm turning left or right from a stop, it's easier. Power brake it and it's off to spin city.

Well,

By definition, if the majority can spin the tires from a dead stop with no additional steps, you would be the one who had an unusual experiance with the 05 Auto GT. So, I see no reason to get huffy with us for pointing out our experiance with our own cars....

It is possible that this particular car had some unusual issue....

So you did all this with your Uncle's friend's car? That's the kind of friends I wish I had! My auto GT will spin em a bit too without using the brake. Might want to have that car looked at.
