Honestly if you have the time you say get the book and a multimeter and go through each wiring diagram and see what they are supposed to be reading and test them. I have a little OCD when it comes to things and if I were in your situation that's what I would do. And yes there are probably are videos also that you can watch. But you have to watch the ones that you are trying to check for. Also the Haynes repair manual will only give you diagrams not the actual ohms and voltage and things like that

Might post the problems your are having with the car. Unless you are planning on doing a complete restore I would try to fix what is not working first.

Did find this out there that might be helpful...

Check the side panel under wiring diagrams.

^ This.

But also, Welcome to the forums!

Not only would knowing what issues you're facing be helpful, the reality is... maybe it's a bit easier to just buy the harness(es) in question so you can literally plug and play the car back to working order. You can go to a pick-a-part (or whatever you call it) and acquire one that way, or you can find one on ebay... lots of possiblities. The desire to repair the harness is admirable, but perhaps you can explore the cost of just getting it at the boneyard anyway and then decide what's best for you.

Hope that helps and good luck!
