How many of those are for the new rental fleets?
Statistics are so much fun.

I would think it has to do with the rebates up to $4000 ($1500 + $2000 + $500) if you are a Ford owner returning customer and finance through Ford Credit Plus if you can get the A X or Z plan on it its a sweet deal on a Mustang!

Well, I guess that makes me part of the 0.3% . I ordered my '09 GT on 7/11. This is going to be the longest "6-8 weeks" of my life.

it's good to see sales up for a 'muscle car' especially since a lot of people are wanting hybrids and cars that get 40-50 mpg. this proves mustangs are the best car on the road if sales goes up in times when gas prices are high and other cars are available with better mpg

...either that or it proves there are a lot of people like me who were in high school or college during the muscle car era who couldn't afford one then. My dream car was the '69 Mach 1. Now, 40 years later, I can finally buy something close to what I wanted as a kid. The ironic thing is, I still can't afford to buy a 1969 Mach 1!

that could be the case too

I kind of understand how you feel about still not being able to afford a classic Mach 1. When I was 15-16 (i'm almost 25 now), looking for my first car, I wanted a mustang. It just so happened our neighbor had fixed a 1970 mach 1 as was selling it. Even though it was "a lot of car" for a 15 year old, i asked if they could look into buying it and 'saving it' until they felt I was old enough to drive it... they said no. A few years later (after the car was sold, and our neighbors had moved away) we ran into them and asked about the car; he told us he sold it to a guy who turns out bought it for his son's 16th birthday and wrecked the rear end less than a week of having it . we then asked how much our old neighbor sold the car for... $10,500!!!! and it was in near perfect condition . I now frequently chastise my parents for not buying a car that is worth over 3 times that (they were probably right about it being 'too much car' for me... at the time; my dad is still banging his head wondering why they didnt buy it too). Even though you shouldn't dwell on the past, a '70 Mach 1 or a '70 Boss are my dream cars, and I could have had one... oh well
