The Ford "grapevine" I listen to says that they plan on holding them at
a release point (most likely outside of Chicago) so that they can send
out as many as possible at one time. Since it is the Mustang they
probably won't hold them up too awful long as customers are getting
itchy for them. My guess would be the first run will land during the
first week of Oct.

my deal sent that

I few sources here have said that Ford wanted to release the cars to all cities at around the same time. So, what you siad would go along with that. As far as holding the Mustangs hostage in the windy city, who know? But I do believe that most dealerships will be getting their first couple Mustangs withing the next couple weeks.

Hey lightningstang, nothing personal and not trying to bash you, but, please use some periods occasionally. It makes the posts much easier to read.

Hey Lightningstang....

You and I have the same lisense plate (mine's Ohio of course) but I think that's cool.

Everyone has been making fun of me cause at the moment I have it on my Jeep.

Though I think we all could make this poster's prediction, it IS pretty logical... The Mustang launch is happening in a couple days, so Ford will get their freight carriers (truck AND train) moving all over the place.

The sheer logistics confuse me as to where cars would be sent first, but close to Detroit equals truck and distant equals freight trains. I think the Midwest will see the cars first simply because delivery by truck means the car rolls right off and owner's get calls. Train cars must get unloaded, parked in a waiting yard, the get loaded AGAIN on a delivery truck.

I live near O'Hare in Illinois where there's a few train yards. One time I saw a caravan of like 10 Audi A8's being driven by salespeople from the local Audi dealer with plastic wrap and all on them, so some dealers do go to some goofy lengths in getting the cars quick from the drop-off points. :drive:
