Mustang ineligible for XPlan?

I've been contemplating buying an '07 GT and went to the dealership with my XPlan PIN and was told that the Mustang is on the ineligible list. Because my trade in came in low I thought XPlan pricing would help. Has anyone had a problem with XPlan on the Mustang GT? I'm in NJ so maybe that's got something to do with it.

No,
I got the new one at xplan price. Then again, there are jillions of homeless mustangs down here.

Back in 04 they wouldn't give me an xplan price on my first one though.

Yep, x-plan got me an awesome price on a GT convertible ordered from factory. Bottom line, go get another dealer. I suggest sending e-mails to the inernet sales managers at ever dealer within 100 miles. You will get one who wnats to make the sale.

yeah... they're fillin' you full of crap. I got mine with x-plan.

on the other hand.. there are a lot of incentives that dealers have been able to get prices without x-plan right down to a similar number. My wife and I just bought an '07 Fusion for her, and with her military discount (only $500) and other incentives, the price was $15 less than x-plan

BUT..... I went with x-plan anyways, becuase the dealer CANNOT charge anything but the x-plan price and dealer & destination ... that's it. The sales guy didn't like the fact that I knew I could side step all of their fees which would have been about a grand.... right in their pocket.

Jerry, the Mustang hasn't been on the list for some time. That dealer is just being a dumba&&. While its up to each dealer if they want to give it, it would be in their best interest to do so (especially now that the cars are easier to get). I would just call around and see if another store will honor it for you.

I'm not sure if there is a list per se, but I'd imagine a GT500 or a GT would be amost impossible on X-plan. The dealer doesn't have to sell a car on X-plan if they don't want to. This was a predominant case in 2005 and 2006 at some dealers who didn't want to use their allocation of Mustangs for discounted sells. There are so many on the lots now, most dealers should accept the plan. If not, I'd go elsewhere. I know ISELLFORD and others will take care of X-plan buyers.

Quoted from Ford's AXZ plan website:

Current excluded vehicles include Ford GT, Shelby GT 500, Jaguar XK(2007), Volvo C70, F-450 through F-750 Super Duty, E-450 and Aston Martin vehicles. This list of excluded vehicles is subject to change.
Mazda Products – available under the Mazda Purchase "S-Plan" for eligible A/Z-Plan salaried employees and retirees and Hertz hourly employees. UAW represented employees, retirees, surviving spouses and their family members are not eligible to purchase or lease any non-UAW produced Mazda products.

On a side note - example A-plan pricing for the Edge is now available on the site. A $26,000 car gets a $2000 discount with the A-plan. No X-plan example was listed.

EDIT: Added more information above.

I've read from a dealer's site that the X-plan is 4% above the A-plan price ($24k). So in the above example, the discount would be $1,040 for the Edge X-plan (if the 4% is true).

I was also able to get the X-plan price for a 2007 GT. The first dealship I contacted played dumb at first and said they didn't know anything about the X-plan. Then they came clean and said they wouldn't honor it. I went to another dealership and they were more than happy to sell me a Mustang with the X-plan. They figured I could be repeat business and I would spread the word that my company's X-plan option works. The X-plan is the A-plan (employee pricing) + 4% so they do make around $1000 bucks on an easy sale.

I just bought mine on the x-plan and got the $500 rebate to boot. I went to three dealers in my area and all were more than willing to sell me a mustang gt on the x-plan as long as I ordered it. They would not sell me dealer stock on the x-plan.

The dealer gets a holdback on every car so they still made just shy of $1,000 on my x-plan order, that is why they should be more than willing to let you order on the x-plan.

No problems buying my GT with X-Plan either. Also had a dealer in 2004 willing to sell me either a Cobra or Mach 1 on X-Plan as well.

The dealer I bought my '06 from was happy to take X-plan. The same dealer had refused to take X-plan when I bought my (former) '05 early last year, however. Just keep trying other dealers and be sure to ask for their fleet or internet sales manager. I had to go thru him to get X-plan. I guess the regular salespeople either can't or won't honor it (at my dealer, anyway).

Is the additional $500 discount only available on a car in dealer stock, or will it apply to an ordered car as long as it comes in before 1/2/07?
