Thumbs down

My girlfriend's GT came in on Fri. morning. I took it to get tinted, then back to the dealership for cleaning. I was taking it to her that night along with the engagement ring that she DIDN'T know about yet . After spending two hours with a clay bar and wax :bang: , I headed up to the dance studio where she teaches dance in the evenings.
I sat her in the car, and after showing her where everything was, said that I had ordered an option that I didn't tell her about. She gave me a nasty look and said "What, the stereo?" I reached across her into the console and took out the ring. (Sappy stuff), she says yes, and we're off to dinner.
I drive her old car (02 V6 Stang) with her following in the new one. A guy I know met us at the restaurant so he could look at the 02, which he was interested in buying for his fiance'. They drove it and were to come look at it again Saturday.
After finishing dinner, we were off to my new fiance's parents house. I again led, and she was following. As I turned left and headed South toward the on-ramp...

BANG!

Some college chick in a Chevy Malibu runs a red light and hits me in the passenger side rear, spinning me 380 degrees and hurling the passenger side wheel and axle flying (the cops found it later...over 100 yards from the impact!). Both airbags went off. Fortunately NO ONE WAS HURT! There was only one "independent" witness, supposedly an off-duty cop, who said that I was traveling East and the other car was traveling South (the opposite was true), but the cop doing the investigating stated that obviously that was not possible (would have had to hit me on the driver's side). My fiance' was hysterical at first of course...this all unfolded right in front of her.
Oh, yeah...the 05 is awesome. :worship:

Wow, what a story. Congrat's are in order for you! Glad no one was hurt. So much for selling the 02. Hope that all works out to your favor. Good Luck with your marriage!

What a mixed bag of emotions! Congratulations on your engagement, and the new 05, but it sounds like the 02 is in bad shape. I'm glad you were apparently not injured and the wreck happened to the 02, and not the 05! It sounds like you could have been really hurt if you were just travelling a little slower. Barrett, you're one lucky guy!

Wow! That's incredible....glad your ok. Man that stinks! Looks like the V6 is dead...to bad because it looks like you had a potential buyer. Again glad your ok and good thing it wasn't the '05! Stupid drivers are making me think twice about buying a new car again.

Look at it this way: now you don't have to sell the wrecked car.

Congrats on the engagement.

First and foremost....YOU ARE SAFE AND SOUND. 2nd....Congrats on the proposal acceptance and future wedding....and 3rd, it sounds like you are going to get an insurance payoff for a total loss on your '02 Stang (at someone else's insurance expense)....and 4th, it's a great thing that it wasn't the '05 that got T-Boned. Take care man....and enjoy!

It's just a car, be happy you are not injured. Congratulations on getting engaged.

I hope the marriage isn't as rocky as the engagement.

Congrats on the engagement. The extra option idea for the ring was pretty cool. I would do something like that for my girl but I'm still about a year away from giving her that rock she always wanted. For those who know me I'm not talking about the crack rock either.

Dude - first thing, SO glad you weren't hurt and no one else was.

Second - way to be romantic - nicely done!!!

Congrats on the new '05 and the engagement!!!

[I'm telling you though, I'm starting to get nervous every time I see a thread with the phrase '05 Mustang' and the work 'accident' in the same paragraph. I don't even wanna THINK about those two things at the same time!!! ]

Indeed...I believe the Malibu driver's insurance just took that off your hands for you

How long will you be out of work? (It would be good to answer with a high number here...maybe the '05 will be free too...lol)

Use that insurance money and buy yourself an 05. If the other person did run the redlight then you could stand to get a nice check. Glad your OK..

Congradulations on your engagement!

Is she pregnant?

just kidding, brutha. My wife and I were just married in August.... that was the first question everybody asked us when we told them we were getting married..... 'cuase I guess people don't get married becuase they love each other anymore. so I figured I'd give you a small ration too. For real, though... congradulations, it's a good thing.

Sorry about the '02. I hope you don't get screwed in the process.

Wow, that sounds like something out of a depressing rock video. Glad you're okay and congrats on the engagement!
