This may be a stupid question, but how does that affect the exhaust note?

Not a stupid question.

With less baffling & restriction your exhaust note will change. The car really sounds hot.

Yeah, it will be loud all the time, even when you wish it wasn't, like cruising at highway speeds.

The cats are very restrictive on the 05' making an option like this viable. I assume your race car has headers & no cats, so of course you could not run on the street like that.

Unless your 17 & just put a big block in your car with open headers and had to try it out late at night. That went over big.

If you read my post I noted at a steady speed the car sounds almost stock inside. Push it & it sounds great.

What about the back pressure that the muffler gives the engine. Does the check engine light come on.

Myself, the exhaust men & others who build custom systems for race cars seem to agree that because the mufflers are so far back in the system that back pressure is minimal Vs their main purpose of sound control. We feel the cats are controlling the back pressure.

No light. Had it to red line a few times, pulls great.
