I just found these hood struts as alternative.

No drilling/rivets required. I would like to see a better picture though.

Looking at these just inspired me to place an order......for the Redline kit!
I can't stand the way the hood bracket looks on the Mustang Racing kit. Looks like the sort of uselessly drilled "bling" I'd expect on a Supra

Geez, I hardly noticed them 
. I had to look twice.
I don't remember a factory bolt on the hood, unless they mean to take off the hood from the hinge.
I like my Red Line - only $60 and a VERY EASY install.

Yep, Redline Tuning. Those brackets look like they belong on my garage door.
PS. Had anyone tried swaping the Redline struts (putting the large end down) so that the Redline can be read. I e-mail them, they said although they recommend using them in the presribed manner. They could be swapped side for side so the logo would be rightside up.

I agree, the brackets look ugly, but they do seem like they might be better for a fiberglass hood since all of the load would be on the brackets and hinges instead of the fiberglass. Just a thought...

I just received my Redline kit this evening. Got the black basic kit, and slipped them a few extra bucks to powder coat the brackets black for me. Install was a piece 'o cake, and they look great (no pics as I started the install at dusk, and even though it was fast, it was dark by the time she was done)
