It's been a couple of weeks since fuel economy was discussed, so can you guys and gals with your 2005 GTs and V-6s give us an update on your MPGs? In what type of driving?
TIA.
TIA.

I drive it... not with a light foot, but also not with a heavy one either.
I'll get on it now and again, but for the most part I'm going to and from work....
Mostly freeway driving...
I really think it's the weekend city driving that get's me... My average mpg, is around 20... which I don't think is bad, but the end result is chiping away at my Amaco card...
BTW, I don't know what the tank size is.

I am very pleased with the gas mileage of my V6. Right from day one, I've been getting around 22 MPG on my commute to and from work, and 25-26 MPG on long runs on the open highway. I have 1,200 miles on the odometer now.
In contrast, when my Taurus with the 3.0L 200HP Duratec engine was new, it was a couple of months before I got over 20 MPG out of it.

I had 4.10 gears installed with an Auto Tranny. I just also have a compuer flash (SCT Xcalibrator):
- at 65 MPH with 2200 RPM @ 24.5 MPG
- at 80 MPH with 2500 RPM @ 21.5 MPG
- in town about 16.5 MPG
All semi agressive drving style - more so in town with about 1200 miles on the Stang.

Seems like the issue is more of needing a good break-in period to get some better MPG. Bullittman's MPG is a nice improvement from the new motor MPG.

I'm still at 12 with a stick GT. I think it is because it is a stick and I don't shift early. I don't redline it either though...

GT got 21 over all on a trip but was up to 80 at times just to keep up. At 90 before I set the cruse and even ran it up to 120 and backed off. Real proud of myself as I did not light the tires once.
