, but I'm actually more impressed with the Explorer/Mountaineer getting the 'Best Family SUV' after all the bad press the Explorer has had in the past years with rollovers, etc.

Saw that episode, too. Still scratching my head over their pick for the "best convertible" - Pontiac Solstice? Probably because it is such a big departure for Pontiac compared to the stuff they've had in recent years. MX-5 marginally better, but to be expected from Mazda. Also expected the Ford Escape Hybrid to win "best eco-friendly vehicle". No complaints about the Mustang here.

Clap your hands for performance!!! that's all I care about. And is it me, or is something different on this board. I am running the older skin and I sense that there is more color.

My favorite part
"But add in the vintage pony-car style, and a price that's lower than many front-drive import posers"

Its amazing how 'programed' americans are to this too, even devoted Ford fans. The Ford Explorer is the undisputed best mid size SUV on planet earth for the money, no matter what anyone says. Its superior in every way to its competitors.

I agree, and its nice to see this media outlet (actually I read many outlets that thought the Explorer should have been 'Truck of the Year' at the NAIAS) take notice.

Sorry . .
