"For those of you who did not see my first post a while back, I was able to get an upclose view of the 2005 mustang because I run an Auto Show down here in West Palm. I know the pictures are grainy, sorry. Hope you enjoy " - Tony G

and finally a LINK to the original post.
Hey BM, I went to the show at Northwood on Fri just to see the new stang. Then I went w/ the family on Sat to see the other cars. I was really great to finally see the new car in person. I spoke to the Ford Rep for a while on Fri night. She really could not give any new info other than what we already knew from the mags and on the internet. But she did say that this car "is only the beginning and if you want another edition you should wait until '06." And Ford is in talks w/ Shelby to nail down what they want to do for the Shelby stang. She would not let anyone sit in it nor would she start it up. I really wanted to hear the car. But is was really great to finally see it! I hate the wheels though, they could be better.

Burningman, nice job as always. Just begs the question again, 36 days to order but has anyone talked to a dealer to see if they have any heads up on price/option package information. I'm talking to the "Military Auto Sales" folks here and they don't have squat.

As a courtesy to their fans and customers, Ford should let us know about the next special edition higher than the GT around the time of ordering. They don't even have to be too specific (ie. IRS, ~350hp, ~$33k).

FORD, you listening?

is it just me or does the front end of the 05 look smaller then the other stang?
It has a longer wheelbase, with the front wheels moved much further up, so there's a lot less overhang compared to the old one. [/b][/quote]
no i know that what i meant was that it looks like the front of the current stang looks wider then the 05. but the more that i look at that pic of them side by side im just thinking its the angle of the cars to the camera

is it just me or does the front end of the 05 look smaller then the other stang? and yet the rear end of the 05 looks alot bigger... well wider... but shorter... yah know what i mean

i dont remmeber how does it go... is the 05 shorter in length but wider then the current stangs or do i have it backwards... i just dont remember how it goes from looking at those beautiful pictures
Those photos were shot with a wide angle lens. With that type of lens a small difference in distance can result in an exaggaration of perceived size.

If you look at the head on photo, yes 05 looks smaller but due to the camera angle and that the 05 may just be slightly farther away it looks smaller.

Now look at the side photo with the 05 in front of the SN95. In this photo the 05 looks huge compared to the SN95. Again this is due to the lens.

I'd say that the rear end of the 05 looks GREAT. I've read many posts that said things like "the rear end of the 99-04 is the best feature on the Mustang and they runied it on the 05." or "The 05 rear end is huge". Based on that side by side photo, as much as I too like the rear end of the 99-04's, the 05 rear end is much better!

The 05 is longer than the 99-04. It is supposedly 1/2" higher and depending on which set of specs you belive it is either 1" narrower or 1/2" wider.

Track is all that counts in the width department as far as I'm concerned, so its 1" wider.

It is a bigger car shape and length wise which can't really be seen when comparing the the overall dimensions to the old car. I saw them side by side, the new one is larger.

I went to the autoshow with 6 other guys who were pretty impartial (most had never seen the new 05). Every one said the new car looked much nicer than the old one, which still looked good.
