I tried searching for moonroof, but nothing came up. No moonroof on the 2005? I understand that the convertible will be coming out soon, but darn, moonroofs are so nice to have.

not an option, unless you go aftermarket. I dont recommend that, it destroys the value of your car and usually leaks.

I agree I would never let someone cut a hole in my roof unless it was done on the assembly line......Anyone miss T-TOPS? I think this car would look great with them...even though they might leak down the road I say bring them back

I have t-tops on my 2000 Z28 and they are nice but you have to be very diligent in care for the seals.

A sunroof looks HORRIBLE on a Mustang. Don't do it. I'd rather see T-Tops back then have a sunroof on it.

the roof line just makes the car! if you want open air go with the vert!

One company is offering an all glass roof (according to the SEMA preview). I'm curious about that.

One problem is that sun/moon-roofs have two anchor rails (the outside of the roof). T-Tops allow one center rail, which allows more flex, and is worse for the structural integrity.

If you reinforce the car for a T-Top (to do it right), you're basically at the point where you could offer a full targa -- which I'd rather have. So T-Tops for me are the worst choice. Give me a simple but structural moonroof, or give me the open air of a targa. And both are quieter and more weatherproof (for me) than a vert. (Ohio is too cold too often to make a very of much value). If I was living in Cali, where I come from, it is a different story.

An all glass roof is probably the way to go, if done properly (and not too pricey kthnx)

1) It looks cool, especially from the inside and won't mess up the roofline

2) It solves stability problems, and is, in fact, stronger than a standard roof.

The new Peugeout 307 has them as an option. Wicked feature for a mid-prized family car.

I wonder how much it will weigh? The glass roof on the mini (worlds ugliest car next to the Pontiac Aztec) is really heavy. Ant though it would be nice I hope it is relatively light.

have t-tops on my 85 firebird dont leak a drop!!!

with that said i have allways loved t-tops and it would be kina cool to see say a chop of if on the 05?

im just anouther one of these people that would rather have a t-top car than a convertible

with that said i still think a sunroof would look really bad on the 05 i wouldnt do it even if it was an option

If we go by the (only) currenty industry example, the Peugeot 307 SW:

Extra weight compared to regular 307: 120 kg / 265 lbs

Which of is glass roof: 18.5% = 22.44 kg / 50 lbs

Size of glass sheet: 5.2 sqm / 56 sq ft

Their glass weighs, in other words, 0.90 lbs/sq ft more than the regular steel counterpart (with rounding errors).

I would love to see T-Tops brought back, and I think now would be the time to do it too. Since the Camaro and Firebird are gone (at least until 2007) Ford could eat up some more of the market by offering T-Tops. They had them a while ago, so whos to say that it wouldnt be a bad idea.

T tops were the answer to no verts. When the feds changed the standards. Now that there are verts t-tops aren't going to be big sellers.
