Okay So I've been looking at all of these stock pics of the '05 V6 and GT, and I'm still not quite 100% satisfied with the body. I am very pleased with the powerful 290+ hp engine and I am starting to get used to the "dumbed down" frontend, (which I am hoping will improve with a Cobra or 3rd Party body kit) Wondering if anyone has any items on their wish list for engine improvements, interior or exterior?

As has been talked about......This is the first remake to really have early aftermarket company involvement so there should be some good stuff out there right away.

Im going for the GT, so first thing might be the exhaust depending on ho wit sounds and how loud it is .. i really want to put magnapacks on it.

Second is the hood.. it must go.

Third... i hope an aftermarket company comes out with the chrome brake light accents.. i think it will look classy with the satin silver im getting :worship:

Don't sweat it. Look at his handle - that says it all.

Back to your question: I think the final '05 looks pretty good overall, and I don't think I'd change it too much with too many doodads. I mean, look at Steve McQueen's '67 fastback in Bullitt. I believe that was pretty much stock, and now everyone wants to copy that STOCK car.

My vote:

EXTERIOR

1. Wheels - the stocks gotta go in favor of 18" rims. Which ones? Dunno yet. Maybe 18" Bullitts, not sure. Wheels are the best way to set your car apart without cheesing it out.

2. Possibly slight lowering - depends on the final ride height.

3. Window tint.

4. Sequential turn signals on the back.

5. Definitely paint the mirrors body color - that's my big design pet peeve on Stangs.

So subtle enhancements, nothing overblown.

INTERIOR

1. Possibly a custom audio system and NAV unit.

ENGINE

1. WHY did they remove that beautiful "Powered by Ford" engine cowling? Whaaaa, I want that back. I'll add that if it's available.

2. Custom air intake system so my stallion isn't breathing through a straw.

As far as power goes, if this thing really has 341 horses at the flywheel, that's more than enough power to get most people into lots of trouble.

The bigger issue IMHO is whether or not to wait for an SE model.

1. New Hood. Stock ain't doin' it for me. Go with a Ram Air hood at least.

2. A less feminine lime. I mean, it's my favorite color but the Legend Lime has a lighter touch than most.

3. The V6 rims plain shoot - go with Bullitts or ANYTHING differnent for that matter.

4. Get rid of the horrid license plate indention on the V6.

I tried to find my (way!) earlier posts of desired modifications I'd make, but I think the forum ate it. :P

So, in no particular order, is my new and different list of stuff I'm actually going to do:

First, acquire one 2005 Mustang GT in Performance White, IUP'd Red Accent/Dark Charcoal interior, Automatic, Shaker 1000, Wheel Locks, Theft Deterrent, Side Air Bags, and 17" Bright Machined Aluminum Wheels.

Then the manditory mods are: (no order):
1. I am definitely changing the antenna to a powered one.
2. Swap the GT fog lamped grille for a V6 non-fog lamp one.
3. Remove GT badges from Front Fenders. I may put one somewhere else. Or get some 4.6 Badges made. Or use the '96 badges. I dunno. But I dinna like the new GT badges, so they're gone.
5. Change "gas cap" to V6 one ('cause I like the horse there better.)
6. Tint, of course.

As far as desired mods that probably won't happen, but I'd like to do:

1. Change the Dark Charcoal door panels, quarter panels, headliner, A-pillar covering, package tray, and carpet (think that's it...) to the same red as the seats and such.

2. Change seat inserts to matching red cloth instead of the leather. Although with the "comfort weave" leather, it might be ok. It's a temperature issue with me.

3. One of those remote keypad things, but not on the outside, somewhere hidden, but still usable. Where the heck THAT would be I dunno... But I sure like mine on my Mark VIII.

4. 'Draulics. 'Nuff said.

5. Finally, one of those pine tree air fresheners that hang from your mirror? Yeah, one of those. That'd be sweet.

There ya go. Oh, I'm sure there'll be some other mods that will be available (Cold air induction, NOS, Turbo/Super charger, exhaust whistles (They go whoo whoo!) that I might one day acquire, but probably not.

so let me get this right... u want to get a GT but turn it into a v6 in stylin?

this might seem a lil stupid but y not just save the extra moneyu u would be spending on that GT and just get a v6? and dont be like but i want a v8 not a v6, because IMHO its freaking stupid to literally turn a GT into a lower model just so that u can have the v8

but hey each to his own.

B) Already budgeting for mods to do as $$ become available: #1) Wheels, my rule of thumb is Polished/Chrome for dark color car or Painted/Cast/Carbon Fiber for lighter colors, either will visually work for neutral colored car #2) Better horn #3) Tint #4) Intake/Headers so it will breath even better #5) Cryo treated Rotors and Kevlar pads #6) Unichip; may add earlier by retuning the one I have for my "Toy"

That pine tree air freshener should be an inexpensive mod

Plowjockey check out stangnet.com where they :clown: belittle each other, because I prefer it here on Brad's site where everyone is entitled to their own opinion(s).
