Got a call from Sales, "Good news, bad news. Your car is in, S-M will not sell on X-plan. Just A-plan or MSRP." "If you want you could order one for the spring when we may X-plan.

No. We did not have a written contract, just A-plan and wife's name on the invoice. We told Salesperson that most likely it would only be X-plan but they ordered it A-plan anyway, her word was as we now know (and figured to begin with,) was no good.

S-M said "We are losing $1,100 by selling X-plan, in place of an A-plan from Ford.

After listening to all my history with Dealership, good and missed deals (Saleen). He counter with $1,100 over X-plan.

On top of that He insisted on an aftermarket $300 alarm that they say all Mustangs need because of the Theft of this car. And that my car would have even if I did not want it. Also that 50% of buyers ask for them. I called BS, in a nicer way. I asked who is going to steal the car between now and tomorrow if you keep it inside?
He stated "It's his car and he can put whatever he wants on it until it is sold."

Jerome-Ducan Ford, Paul S. is the one the salesmangers, I put his card in garbage and then.

Not wanting to blow my cool, I told him, I'd never buy from them as long as he is a Sales Manger, and walked out never seeing our raped car. Just like someone sold it out from under us. What a *****.

OH I can think of so many more things I should have countered and brought up.

No wonder people dislike buying a new car. :bang:

Good choice to walk out, too bad about being screwed, hopefully you'll find a dealer that values continued sales rather than one-time sales and unhappy customers.

don't take this the wrong way, but the mistake you made was not having your Aplan pin at the time you ordered it.

You could have had both scenarios in writing, either selling with A or Xplan.

Sorry to hear this happened to you. Total This is the kind of shady dealing I am hoping to avoid by waiting a while.

Badsnake98, can emphathize with you. Ordered 05 GT in June on AZ plan thru Town East Ford in Mesquite,Tx. Ordered it thru my cousin, a fleet manager there for 12 years, so saw no reason to get anything in writing and did not require a deposit. My cousin left the dealership in July for better job, another fleet manager took over and as late as mid-September said would honor the plan. Car was built week of 09/08. Got a call from them last Friday saying the SM/part owner was not honoring any AXZ plan, his name Mike Ward. Reported this to Ford Customer Relations, AXZ plan , and the Dallas BBB. But know nothing will come of it since there is nothing in writing. Five Star Ford in North Richland Hills said they would
order my car thru AZ plan and have done so (in writing). Now waiting again but rather wait and save the money. Good luck.

True that.

But then again, it's a shame that it ALWAYS has to be in writing, isn't it? I never had a-plan pricing written on my order, and I literally walked in off the street in May ordered from a dealership I've never even heard of before. My rep said they honor the plans without exception. Gave his word, and he kept it. Plenty of other salesman out there who would do the same...

Which reminds me. Badsnke98, sorry about your experience with those jerks. Plenty of solid dealerships in MI, though. PM me if you'd like a few good contacts....

Dudes. I would seriously call the Ford Customer Service Center in MI. These dealers are totally trying to screw you over. And besides I thought that if you can & choose to use the XAZ whatever plan then they had to honor it. I could be wrong about that but that is just what I thought. Anyway. Here is the phone numbers & addresses for the US, Canada, & Worldwide centers:

Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center
P.O.Box 6248
Dearborn, Michigan 48126
1-800-392-3673(FORD)
TDD for the hearing impaired:1-800-232-5952
Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST
Saturday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM EST

Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd.
Customer Relationship Center
P.O.Box 2000
Oakville, Ontario L6J 5E4
1-800-565-3673(FORD)
Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST
Saturday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM EST

Ford Motor Company Worldwide Direct Market Operations
1520 Fairlane Drive
Allen Park, Michigan 48101 U.S.A
Telephone: (313) 594-4857
Fax: (313) 390-0804

Seriously guys. What have you got to loose? The least they can say is "Sorry there's nothing we can do about price gouging." Good luck.

Thanks guys for your support. I have a few friends going to look into what could be done, if anything at all. Also some will check with their salespeople to see if anyone will take the lesser plans.

It's almost 3AM and still can't sleep.

What I can get is "Family and Friends" is that not the same as X plan? Or are they different.

S-M cryed about X plan (no money in it) and so many other things were said, then He said "Bring me an A-plan pin # and I will honor it." I never asked why not "Family and Friends." I believed that my salesperson knew that was what pin I could get. I hate to call back tomorrow just to check for sure.

My wife said "The heck with them." I know, I want the car a little more than she does though.

Reguardless we do not want an Aftermarket Alarm on the Car. What a weiner.

Thanks for all offers of contacts, if I need to I will use.

Well, that just plain stinks! I had a dealer do that to me back in the '80's on a truck and I'm STILL mad about it!

But here's the bottom line - you can bite your lip and get the car at whatever price you haggle out now, or you are just going to have to shop for one on the lot or order again, from a different dealer.

My vote would be to be patient unless you just have to have that particular car (and I can certainly understand that feeling!). But actually, more and more of these cars are hitting the lots every day and I think in a few weeks you'll be able to find one at your price, especially with winter coming and sales typically swooping downward a bit.

But then again, it won't be 'your' car and that does mean something since you ordered it, waited on it, and expected it.

Maybe if we all started an email blitz to J-D Ford and told them that dealing like that is not nice it might help? Post an email address and I'll definitely send them one! My sister lives near there so I know where it is.

By the way - did you check out Al Long Ford? I've talked with them quite a bit about an '04 Cobra and they seem to be pretty straightforward.

Either way, good luck. You sure didn't deserve it but it just goes to prove that you can NOT trust a dealer's word. GET IT IN WRITING!

I could not sleep much at all, so I'm back with nothing to do special this weekend. Boy did it feel good to sleep if only for a few hours. But I still want to that S-M now that I'm awake.

Steve You summed it up very well, it was to be our car. Now my memory is totally soured by this action. Money is not the issue, it's that G-S-M's Paul Shamo arrogant and irreverent demeaner about the After Market Alarm. And the Saleswoman Michele P. not standing by her true word that the Dealership would not play head games with the order when it arrived. She's been there for years and must beaware of his ways.

I know I should have had all in writting, including no add-ons. especially the Alarm. If someones word is no good, then what good are they as a person, not!

Primary E-Mail: ford@jeromeduncan.com is all they show, cowards.

nytsoul Thanks for your local support, please let them know (also in person if you ever get near there.)

If this posts continues to show support, I'm thinking of sending copies to the Dealership as E-Mail and paper.

I know this may not be a popular opinion, Steve touched on it a bit. Let's see $27,359.77 doesn't sound very bad to me at all. Take the emotion out of it, and consider that it might be another 4 months of waiting if you order again (holidays coming and all) I'd be inclined to do the deal and chalk up the $1,100 bucks to a lesson learned.

what a $hithead. but, I have wasted more than 1100 on stupid stuff in my life. I would go back in there, and tell him I would take the car, but not with the after market alarm. I don't want some dealership dopes screwing with my car's electrical system. However, it may be too late.
Sorry, hope it works out. I am staying away frm the dealerships this weekend, for fear I would buy one....

Bruce, I just emailed this moments ago to J-D/Paul Shamo.

"This email is for Paul Shamo.

Paul,

Recently a fellow member (Bruce) of TheMustangSource.com had a verbal commitment from your sales staff (Michelle P) regarding the ordering and purchase of a 2005 Mustang from your dealership. He states that since the car arrived (ordered per his specs) you now have chosen to ignore the original agreement of purchasing the car on the X plan and are arbitrarily installing a $300 after market alarm system, marking up the price of the car from the original agreed upon price by over $1100.

This type of salesmanship and sales management is unethical, dishonest, and will cost your dealership many, many sales. I myself was considering contacting your dealership regarding a new Mustang due to the fact that my sister lives nearby. I assure you, I will not do so now and have advised her to alert all her car buying friends to your tactics of price gouging and breaking a deal. This deal of yours will cost you way more than $1100 in the long run.

You may say "It wasn't in writing." That may be true - but if a man's word is no good, his signature is no better. That sir, applies to you.

You should be ashamed of your greed and style of management and you do a huge disservice to truly reputable Ford Dealers. I and many, many other Mustang enthusiasts will also be contacting Ford Motor Company's Customer Service Department regarding your unprofessional method of doing business. Enjoy your decisions because you will known for them.

Sign me as:

A disgusted but now wise potential customer,

J. S. Gibson
Lima, Ohio"

I hope this helps your case. Either way, good luck to you and let us know what you finally decide.

Amen, Steve. Hope that guy feels like the douchbag that he is.

Badsnke98, hang in there, man. You're gonna get your wheels one way or the other. And when you do, drive it to J-D Ford and leave a nice patch of rubber on his lot

Hey, I can relate to this situation. Dealers are what they are....CAR DEALERS. At the end of the day, they honestly don't care about the fact that we love these cars. They instead are MUCH more inclined to use that love against us to profit. At some point, people who do these kinds of things pay the price. Can't explain it but believe me, swindlers in the end, get swindled.

Like someone before me said "take the emotion out of it". Are they getting over on you? Yes. Are you going to let $1,100 stop you from getting a car you've been waiting for (in my case about 2 years) a long time? $1,100 is basically $40 a month payment wise. At this point in America, you can spend $40 in one sitting for a lunch or dinner in one night.

True, the b astid's gettin over on you, but you know, at some point all these guys answer to a higher authority. Higher than Ford, much higher.
