My day started off at 5:30 a.m. I had tickets to a rally with President George W. Bush at the Verizon Wireless Center in Manchester, NH. Curt Schilling of the World Champion Boston Red Sox was also going to be there to introduce the President. I couldn't imagine what was was in store for me that day...

I arrived in Manchester, NH at 7:30 a.m. and got in line. I didn't know it at the time, but later learned my tickets put me in section 120 (the front row) near the stage. When the President and his wife came out it was unbelievable. I was lucky enough to shake hands with both of them.

Now, the rest of the story...

I was driving home and crossed the boarder into Mass. I was hungry and saw a McDonalds sign at an exit off the highway in Lowell, MA. As I approached the McDonalds, there it was, the Ford dealership sign just ahead. What the heck, they couldn't have a 05 Mustang GT on display... Could they? I pulled into the lot and there it was, black with red interior. The next thing I know, I'm test driving the car, my car is getting appraised, financing, insurance, etc.

Hours later, it's in my driveway. (Pics tomorrow)!

P.S. The shaker 500 and LED display is awesome!

Sounds like an amazing day! Really cool meeting the president and getting your new stang all in one day. Although... I'm voting for the other guy

BTW, did you know one of the cable news shows equated Bush to Ford and Budweiser and Kerry to BMW?

Well, we all know which way the media leans.

Whatever, I get used to it.

Congrats on your Torch Red GT, I love mine. In fact, I just finished washing it, it looks great.

By the way Bush wins on Tuesday with at least a 53% - 47% margin and over 300 electoral votes!

Any other bets?

haha, I hope so.

Anyway, good on Black and Red. I think the only thing with red that woudl look good at least in my view, is Torch with black interior, or black with red. If I would have gotten black with red, those red floormats would be out day 1 though.

the red floor mats look really good in person, imho. I was going to take them out day 1 too, but they look so nice in my car with the seats complimenting them. :x

I agree with your statement. But with all the crappy BMWs coming out these days, I'd rather be a Ford anyway

I was there too. This one was a little more organized than the last one last month.

The cool part came after the event was over. They don't let people leave the place, just like last time, until Bush is gone. So we're all waiting by the door to get out and all the outside walls are all glass. The motorcade goes by and we all cheer, but the funny part comes when he goes by all the Kerry supporters, they run after him waving their signs.

So I finally get to my car and take off. I get on 293 which is near the airport. As soon as I get near the runway I see a giant blue and white plane literally 500 feet over the highway, right above my car....I knew exactly what it was. I slammed on the brakes, got out of the car and grabbed the camera.

I was pretty cool having Airforce 1 fly over your car. He had an event in Portsmouth right after this so that's where he was going. Anyway as I stood there on the highway I got pretty emotional seeing it. I just remember saying to myself over and over...."GO GET EM!"

Don't tell me you paid 2500 over MSRP, I heard that's what they were asking for that car.
