I learned something new about my car today. I have the IUP, so I have the message center. I had noticed that it does not always beep when you cycle through the different features (MPG, trip, etc.). I thought this might be linked to the problem with the Trip odometer reseting itself on occasion. It doesn't though; the message center does not beep when your blinker is on.

If this is a re-post, just delete this topic. I teach Special Ed, and my kids wear off on my...I'm a little slow sometimes.

The blinker sound is no longer the mechanical sound of a signal flasher, but a reproduced sound played through a speaker. It prob uses the same speaker as the message centre, and as such the message centre is programmed not to beep when the blinker is using the speaker.

No beeps when cycling for me either. ever.
I did notice when seatbelt chime is going off and you hit the t-signal, the seatbelt chime goes away. so maybe it is the same speaker.

My '05 message center beeps when cycling through the messages, however you are right that occasionally it doesn't beep. I never figured out that it's when I have the signal on, but that may be the case. I'll have to check it out... I think you're right though.

'05 and my Message Center beeps while cycling thru the options or different information windows. The only time I don't hear it is when the speaker is occupied by another sound (turn signal, seat belt chimes, etc.) or when I have the radio up too loud.

I too have a 2006 Mustang GT and the message center does NOT beep when switching modes, ever. They must have disabled or removed this.

Some other differences I've noticed between 05 and 06.

The magnetic clasp that holds the seatbelt to the side of the seat is now a snap button.

The velcro that holds the in-trunk release, has been replaced with a molded plastic clasp.

This is comparing to my brother 05 Mustang GT.

I remember when I traded in my 01 Sport Trac for a 04 and noted all the differences. Maybe we should start a post showing the differences between the 05 and 06? Could be interesting.

You really dont 'save' anything by telling a computer program not to make and annoying beep.

Another thing about the 06 that was removed from 05....

The removed the plastic peices that allow the rear seatbelts to slide a little better at the rear deck.

my 06 has the magnetic type seatbelt retainer,
and no beep on the message center
a friend has an 05 convertible with leather seats like my 06, but they feel quite a bit different, the 06 seems to have more side support and a firmer feel, his 05 has about 6k miles versus my 2700, but it shouldnt be "broken in" that much more

If the lumbar is adjusted way out, it feels like you are sitting on the seat instead of in it as it pushes you out of the bolster 'pocket' slightly.
