Hey, GHI thank you, You GottaTryIt you never Know and it's a lot of fun. The CS gets many a conversation going, fun to listen to. The old schoolers remember the 68's and think Ford did good, kept true to the original mods.

2005 Pony
Hi all,
I have a 2005 Mustang V6. I ordered the car in Feb '05 with every single option Ford offered, everything the dealer could provide plus more that I've done, and continue to do. Currently, I'm at work, so I am unable to upload pics. Basically, it is Satin Silver with the Red interior and black racing stripes (Ford not Roush). The racing stripes are probably going to be removed due to the fact that I've purchased a California Dreaming fiberglass "ram-air" hood (not truely ram-air as us old guys know it!) and I don't believe the factory stripes will be able to be adapted for it (I have another stripe kit already). My story is simple: I fell in love with the concept car. The silver one with the glass roof. Way cool. When I went to order mine, I built it from the inside out. Red leather was the first and only choice. Ok....what colors can I get on the outside with the red interior? Black, white, red, satin silver and mineral grey. Don't like black or white and red on red looks to me like it's bleeding. Then I found out about the racing stripes and that then sealed the deal for satin silver. It also set me on the path to "duplicate" the concept car I feel in love with (to a point). The glassback roof is now available BUT it's about $3500 to have it done AND it's a mod you can't undo easily. I deemed it cost prohibitive. So, once the hood is in place, it will be a duplicate with the noteable exceptions of the glassback roof and the 500 hp engine. I hope you all like the pics when I post them. The project is going to be complete around April '08. Oh, something to note: when I ordered this car through the commercial accounts manager of the dealership he told me later that the factory said to him "You know, this guy could order a GT for about 5,000 dollars cheaper." He told them that he told me that too but I wanted it this way. As far as I know, I am the only crazy Mustang guy to order a V6 with everything. Curious about cost? It was $29k including tax title and license plates and climbing. Pretty expensive for a car that started at $19,950, I know. But I wanted a "one of a kind" AND a collector's item from day one. I think I've gotten what I wanted. This past May 2007, I took first place at our annual show AGAINST GT's. In over 25 years of showing Mustangs, I have never seen a "base model" pull 1st place from/against a GT before! The class had about 20 or so cars entered. Of course, my girl is hardly a base model but it is a V6 and generally there is a certain prejudice against V6's. The banner I had made for my rear window says: "The American Ponycar" Meaning Mustang, not mine specifically. As I said, it seems to have been well received in my neck of the woods.

Here are a few links to pics of my car. I can not add them because it says the pics are to large and I'm no computer wiz.
