Does the $379.95 price for the slp loudmouths seema little steep?

Couldn't you just have an exhaust shop rig up two straight pipes to the dimensions of the loudmouths and it would be the same minus the tips?

Wrong again! the loudmouths are some of the highest quality resonators I have ever used, double walled with excellent welds! Far different than running straight pipes!...qaulity and craftsmanship is never a cheap endeavor!!

Yes, the LM's were cheaper when they first came out. I got mine for $225 the day before the price increase... the first price increase. Even t$225 was overpriced though, IMO.
No doubt the SLP's are the best looking tips out there. The only problem is the LM tips have the wrong angle to them. The Powerflow tips, however are correct. I have no idea why SLP doesn't put the same tips in both kits.

the SAME EXACT thing happened to my loudmouths its the reason why i just got rid of them.

blkstang06: I'm not sure if you have any beef with me by saying "wrong again", but I contacted SLP and they said their tips are of the best quality materials, blah blah blah. Seeing multiple people report the same issues has pretty much reduced my confidence in their product down to nothing, especially since their resonator tips are nothing more than "fart can tips" attached to straight pipes. I'd say they are worth maybe $100-$150 a pair, at MOST $200 based on materials and labor.
The Supreme Performance/FRPP GTAs look like a much better deal, however Maremont (the parent company of SP) offers a mere 90 day warranty for their T-409 SS mufflers.
The Borla Stingers / FRPP 5GTs have a very good warranty, are T-304 SS, and have a decent exhaust note. However they are rather pricey at $380-$420 a pair (FRPPs, Borlas can be $500-$600 or more).
At the present, I am not impressed by any of the axle-back or cat-back exhaust offerings for the Mustang and will keep it stock until I find a good reason to get rid of the stock parts. I heard Bassani's in person and like the sound but not the price.

I hear ya. (sorry, bad pun) At this point, I'm happy with running a OR-H pipe and the stock muffs. My only goal for switching mufflers will be a nicer looking tip and hopefully a reduction in weight.

Over the course of three Mustangs; '00 GT vert, '05 GT coupe and '07 GT/CS vert I have had the Flowmaster Series-40 two chamber exhaust, Magnaflow straight through cat back and axle back (on the '05) and now the Supreme GT500/GTA's through Ninosport. IMO the Supremes are the best...quality, good value at $265.00 to my door, and the sound is the best - still sharp and crisp, louder than stock but not too loud, no drone and the 4" dual wall tips are so much better looking than the stock 3" rolled edge tips + with the dual wall the outside surface doesn't get hot enough to melt the rear fascia....all-in-all the perfect exhaust for me.
