Keep the Mustang, get either a FWD beater for winter or an older Jeep. My '05 GT stays home when the wet stuff falls, and then my '99 Cherokee gets to go out and play.

Just my 2ยข, your mileage may vary...

I say make it a daily driver. Enjoy the car -- life is short.

Maybe look at the Mazdaspeed 6. All wheel drive for the snow, 6 speed manual and 268 hp/280 ft.lb. torque engine to satisfy your need for speed.

It's very easy to get these engines over 300 hp.

In comparison to the Escape, you may also want to give the CX-7 a look. Stuck with an Auto tranny, but still lots of fun to drive, availabe with AWD. Same engine as speed 6 (different turbo), so there is potential for more power.

thanks for the advice guys. I am going to be real cautious in this job review, (I dont want to be jumping from company to company) so for the time being I am staying where I am at, earliest it would be would be first part of february that I could start due to a new (present job committment) so maybe I wont even have to worry about it this year if snow isnt too bad

Thanks!

Sam

Get a sub $20k 4-banger for your commuting car. It will get better gas mileage and be a disposable car while offering modern features and excellent comfort. A Mazda3 S GT fully loaded is $21k invoice and will have:
Xenon projector HIDs
LED tail lamps
Dynamic stability control
power sunroof
MP3 CD Bose audio system
ABS w/ EBD
156 hp 2.3L DOHC I4 that gets nearly 30 mpg highway
5-speed manual transmission
Ford C1 platform

Jeremy Clarkson (from Top Gear) has an International Ford Focus which is built on the same C1 platform (Volvo C30 is another C1 car but has a 225 hp turbocharged 5-cylinder engine, same as the International Ford Focus ST) and he really likes it.
