The factory active alarm does not have a "bright blue LED".
What kind of alarm do you really have if you bought it used?

Locking the car with the key in the door disables the tilt sensor AND the interior motion sensors, but still monitors the doors/trunk/hood.. Just FYI.

I didnt mean to imply it was a factory alarm, Im aware it isnt. I have no idea what kind of alarm it is, I have been debating removing all together.

FWIW...06 GT here (manual 5 speed); just tried to activate...got the appropriate chirps to indicate that it is enabled...appropriate chirps to indicate the setting has changed but after testing no luck, doesn't work.

Thoughts?

Try the other key that came with the car. I tried reporgramming on of my systems and it didnt work with one key, but did with the other.

Would i have gotten all the right chirps and stuff if the key wasn't going to work? If what you say is true i'm royally screwed...had a breakin to a coworkers car who i carpooled with and one set of keys was stolen with my work briefcase. I'm down to one set and i'm told a new a new key and fob would run me about $185; not big money but haven't had the need yet.

Are you saying one set of keys is somehow "primary"...if so how can i tell on the key if the one i have left is the "primary" or not?

I haven't been here in a while... I couldn't get it to work on my '05 GT (5spd) back in '04 -followed the instructions, received the confirmation chirps... Oh well... I'm just happy the global windows feature works
