Not sure.... I mean I was about 90% it was going to be a spun bearing but I still had a little hope it was something minor. So I haven't given it much thought...

I haven't really thought too much about a budget but I would like to keep everything under 10K including install...

SO NOW WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK???

If its a spun bearing I assume that the engine knocking would be consistant right?
As in the symptom is always there at those rpms

I've had 'what I think' to be slight knocking on occasion...its not consistant (I mean once or twice) on hot days. I'm wondering if it was either bad gas or something.

No from my knowledge of what happened with my car it was a constant knocking no matter what rpm you were at... Your issue doesn't sound like a spun bearing...

What about the 5.0 stroker from Brenspeed I posted earlier? $3800 for a new short block with premium components is a deal, in stock and ready to ship.

For some reason and I am not sure where I heard this figure, but I thought the 5.0 motor is running about $10 - $12 by itself... If your right that may be the way to go.

So what do you guys think is a better deal???

1) A BRAND New 5.0 motor
2) JDM 302 / 298
3) Brenspeed's 5.0 Stroker

Plus you need the control pack, which is another $1100.

If so that would be a pretty descent price considering you just have to lay it in, Hook up the PCM, Hook up the tranny and a few minor things... So the Labor shouldn't be too bad. Or am I wrong?
