Making the GT more attractive
#21
I disagree with most of those suggestions. I like stripes, I like the fogs(not saying moving them might not look good), Gt badges look ok but can always be changed for the better, color matched rockers are a must (can't believe anybody likes the dull black). What would look good.
1. Functional Hood scoop of some sort or just a better designed hood with accents.
2. Color matched mirrors (better sleaker design as well).
3. Better designed/functional rear spoiler.
4. Seats with a few more options (like the 2 tone leather in the new cobra).
5. More wheel/tire options from the dealer. (order it like you want it) for those that pre-order.
6. Built in moldings for mud flaps.
7. Put in the things that they took out of the production model (nice ceiling liner, dead pedal, engine cover).
But then this is what keeps the aftermarket guys going, isn't it..

Yes, for all vehicles equipped with MyColor, all interior lights should change. Who the heck wants blue gauge lights and green everywhere else. Just a another example of Ford's cost cutting in my opinion. And as has been said before, if I had to pay extra for MyColor specifically, probably never would have ordered it, just give me the IUP w/ out MyColor and save me some $$$$$$$

I agree whole-heartedly with #3. I think the GT looks like a bloated pig. It looks like a snake that just ate a mouse whole and hasn't digested it yet. I think the shelby has it perfect with all the pieces below a certain point black. It gives the illusion that those pieces aren't there and makes the car look longer and skinier. If you compare this car with older mustangs, it is HUGE. Anything that makes it look a tad smaller is a plus in my opinion.

I disagree with almost all of the original poster's suggestions, except for having different color options. That's a good idea. I definitely like the fogs and the body colored rocker panels on the GT. The black rocker panels look odd IMO.
Here is a list of my suggestions:
1- 18" tire and wheel package (coming for '06).
2- painted side mirrors (top portion only).
3- leather on the rear seats (the vinyl is very cheap).
4- a different rear spoiler, like someone else mentioned. I got the spoiler delete option because I like the clean lines, but if a different rear spoiler was offered I might have considered it.
5- telescoping steering wheel.

ok...the V6 topic has been beaten to death...let's tear into the GT...
1. Dump the big fog lights
2. Don't put on Shelby stripes.
3. Lose the body colored rocker panels
4. Integrate fogs into bumper
5. Change the GT logo...I like the older style 60s logo better
6. GT only color options
7. GT badging in the interior
there's a start...what say you????

Definitely the AC and radio etc. lights should be tied into the mycolor option so the entire dash would light up in the same color. To me it is real stupid read STUPID :notnice: to not be able to make the entire dash light up the same color. Come on Ford change that tune.

I couldn't agree more.
The only other things that i might change are
1. Little bit smaller fog lights (must be left in the grill)
2. E brake handle
3. More rim choices

1. Side air bags standard.
2. If you ordered before today you will get the 05 before June.
3. More cabin lights.
4. NO leather in any Mustang.
5. Engine Software and PC port; USB or Firewire for live mods.
6. Grill driving lights and bumper fog lights.
7. Seven year / 100000 bumper to bumper.

I'm not sure why everyone is so big on fog lights. I've rarely used them. Fog lamps always reflect the light back in my face. It's kind of annoying. I think people just like having another button to press in their cars. So I could live without fog lights entirely.
I would like to see them pinch the upper grille a little, so that it resembles the nose on the Shelby GT 500 a little more. Those supports seem too vertical for me. Minor peeve. A different hood would be easy enough. It doesn't have to have fake scoops or anything, just look a little different. Scallops are cool. I would also like to see sidepipes become an option (I know, that's impractical and unrealistic, but this is just something I'd like to see). I would like the tail end to taper a little more (I guess this would have to be done to the V6 model as well, since we're talking about the actual body here). But hey, they offered a hatchback AND a notch back once, right? GT badging on the interior would be nice, but that's a minor detail.
It will be interesting to see how the car evolves over the next few years...

Things i would like too see:
1. spoiler delete option for canada!!!
2. optional bodycolor mirrors, and perhaps optional shape (GT only option)
3. better interior textures (GT only option)
4. optional mach1 style wheels (just because i love them)
5. lots more color options (and GT only colors)
6. make fogs a option (lower price to reflect no fogs)
7. optional seat height adjustments for both driver and passenger
8. center caps for wheels that have pony and not ford name
9. better design for shaker so it does take up so much trunk space
11. optional engine cover
10. better quality checks before release
Things i wouldn't like too see:
1. less power
2. roof rack
3. blink blink wheels
4. body kits
5. sunroof
6. brown color
7. return of ghia brand
8. any bigger then current style

here is an improvement--dont f'in deliver cars blindly because of bull$hiat allocation, stop producing 75% of f'in V6's, screw economies of scale by sharing a new launch with mazda, and how abouyt order to delivery no later then 12 weeks----dammmmmmmmmmmmm -----------

some good points made here , but remember instead of complainin about it search for some aftermarket sites, thats why they make parts
and my best guess is ford is researching so they can refine the car more and more year by year

2. This is not a factory thing. Hard to claim it should be improved over aftermarket stuff people do to their cars.
3. Disagree...I think they look much better than black rockers.
4. See #1. Having the fogs in the bumper has been worn out. Look at every GT and Cobra for 11 years.
5. Agree
6. Agree
7. Agree wholeheartedly

What Tim said and:
8. Hood Scoop
#39
1. Well as far as GT emblems, I am a little biased with the 68 GT emblems
2. Chin spoiler of some sort, to much air going under the front into the engine bay.
3. black rocker panels
4. a functional hood scoop or hood vent
5. more rubber on those 17" rims
